Hi everyone,
I am looking for cheap travel destinations within Europe.
Since I save and invest a lot, I'd like some suggestions so that I can plan my holidays in advance for next year. I am looking for destinations that are particularly cheap to reach from Germany, as I've been living here for a few years.
Thanks!

Need a little more information.
What do you like to do on holiday? Sun/beach or skiing? Opera/museums or cheap beer?
Solo traveller or with partner/family.
Fly, drive, train, bus.
and so on0 -
"Cheap" is also subjective.0

There are no secret destinations that are amazing and cheap. Go on to a holiday site, put in your preferred departure location, enter any destination, then sort cheapest to most expensive and choose from there.Places such as Ski resorts are not popular in the summer because there is no snow and no beaches. But there still might be nice surroundings, walking trails, nearby towns etc to explore if you like that. They are as little as £400 for a week including flights, because they'd rather sell a cheap week than no week at all.Everyone else wants a beach, so a nice place all inclusive would be around £1800pp, that's cheap to some people but expensive to others.0

Do you drive?
There are a lot of Germans on driving holidays / motorhoming / camping. Lots of campsites have cabins, glamping tents etc.
The camping season tends to be much shorter in much of Europe than in the UK, so they give you deals in early and late season.
France is still the most popular holiday destination in the world. It isn't as cheap as Spain, which is also readily accessible from Germany.
I've never been to any of the Eastern European countries, and I understand they aren't as cheap as to they used to be, but some of them might be worth investigating.0 -
Not sure where you are based in Germany, but you could look at Poland, which is relatively cheap, if you can drive certainly, otherwise look at trains, or flights to Gdansk or Poznan. A bit of everything: nice beaches (and even a bit of nightlife in Sopot), modern history in Gdansk, old cities like Torun, Mazurian lakes.
I'm not sure there are many really cheap places left in Europe. We found Romania quite cheap, but you might be put off with its border with Ukraine. Slovakia ia possibility if you like mountain activities. In some countries, costs away from major cities and tourist resorts can be much cheaper, but sometimes the cost/accessibility of travel to more isolated areas can outweigh the cheap prices when you get there.
We have a place in Spain and there are still cheap places there if it's cheap to fly.0 -
Poland is still quite cheap, we got an absolute bargain in Warsaw and its cheap to eat out. Gdansk is beautiful and has the best WWII museum.
I know you are already in Germany but we have just come back from Dresden, hotels were cheap and eating out is reasonable the only expensive bit was the flights but you will get that a lot cheaper or maybe drive / train
Madrid is another one if you like museums, good hotels are cheapish and eating out is very cheap if you go where the locals go and not tourist restaurants
If you fancy South of France try somewhere like Frejus / Saint- Raphael which are stunning without the associated costs of Nice / Monaco ect.
We loved Naples but stayed out near the a local train station and travelled up and down the coast on local trains.Totally Debt Free & Mortgage Free Semi retired and happy0 -

Last time I was in Madrid, a single hotel room cost at least £200. I would not call that cheap!0 -

I'd prefer places outside of Germany to see other landscapes and other cities. I like both mountain activities and city trips, so I'll have a look at the destinations you mentioned.
