Morning all, dullish day here.@RedRuby1231 , wish I was back there. Have a great holiday xYou too @AlwaysAllie.@Remmie, thanks, I think along those lines too. Yesterday I had an unexpected video call.Thinking it was my cousin I put my specs on to realise it wasn't! It was one of the rescues where we'd applied, she was doing a virtual house check. I must have looked a bit confused as I knew he'd been reserved, and mentioned it. She checked and said she was really sorry but she'd been given the wrong number
She had my hopes raised there for a minute!
Still, I might hold off searching for a bit now as it's getting a bit closer to DH knee replacement op.I need to get something out of the freezer for tea. I won't need much as I'm off out to lunch with my cousins today. One of them can't make it today as she's working.Right better do some tidying before thatTake care all x

Morning everyone
After 2 days I'm no longer being asked 12 times if I'm human!
I had a lovely relaxed weekend with little one...she spent most of Saturday in her paddling pool while I was planting more plants...I've used all my pots now!
Red ruby and Allie I hope you both have lovely holidays.
Gers your cordial is a lovely colour
I'm not at work today so I'll go down to mam and dads this morning and then go for my shopping. Little one is off school today so I said I'll take her into town this afternoon with me, there's a lovely big park there we haven't been to for ages. She's not ill, but there's illness in her classroom, so DD is keeping her off the rest of the week, just to be safe. After last summer, she's not taking any risks.
Right, best get on...I hope everyone has a lovely day x11 -
Hi everyone,
I'm another who lost a long post yesterday, grr.
I had some good news at last about the CT scan on my heart. Apparently there is no sign of coronary artery disease and my risk of a heart attack is very low. Just as well as the statins brought me out in a strange rash, I had spots like targets on my hands!
Unfortunately I have been incapacitated for a few days with a back injury so the health news hasn't all been good. It does appear that we're all starting to get over our various ailments, about time.
One benefit of my back is that I've had to leave the meals to the others, I was beginning to feel very jaded with it. Last night was yummy fillet steak, a real bargain as they had been yellow stickered In m and s, down from £11.50 each to £2.75 with 20% discount on top. Steve cooked them perfectly on the BBQ.
Esben has gone with Brian to have his operation follow up at long last. Hopefully it will show an improvement, he certainly doesn't seem to ask people to repeat themselves as often as he did.
I think that's enough drivel from me, especially if I lose it.
Have a good day.11 -
Morning all, thanks for starting us off Ruby. Happy holidays to you, Allie and anyone else planning a getaway.
Thank heavens, it seems we're all Human again! The other day I lost count of the number of times I was asked - everything I clicked on wanted to know the answer.
Yesterday's weather was almost as predicted, except the sun didn't make an appearance late afternoon. Today should be dry with light cloud and a gentle breeze, temperatures up to 24 deg. Sun in short supply though.
Yesterday's grocery delivery arrived on time and the short dated loaf went in the freezer. Alas, the strawberries (also short dated) were returned as they were already going mouldy. I forgot to order grapes and bread sticks too. While I was making soup (6 portions of tomato & red pepper) the plumber arrived to look at the shower. It needs a new part (some kind of safety cut out device) that he didn't have on his van so he's coming back either today or tomorrow with that. Then I had a walk up to the Co-op for grapes and strawberries (worked out cheaper than the SM ones) but didn't bother with the bread sticks as theirs are much too expensive. It being later in the day than I normally go, I fared well with the YS stuff - a large Cornish pasty that will do me two meals, x6 sausage rolls, x4 red chillies and x6 baps, cost £1.79. The freezer is stuffed - again.
Apparently, they don't do their reductions until 3pm so perhaps I'll alter my usual routine in future. Returned a book to the Little Free Library on the way home and, for once, didn't borrow any. Tbf, that was because there wasn't much to choose from, so more good luck than management or restraint.
Pause - the plumber has been, shower repaired. Happy days.
As I don't have to wait in now, I'll give the bedroom a quick dust/vac then take my bag of donations to the CS and have a browse round. Tonight's tea is a salad, possibly with tinned salmon but could be mackerel. I'll decide nearer the time.
@Chrisca - Glad you got your phone sorted out.
@Gers - That's an impressive stash of elderflower cordial!
@Coxy - Congratulations to DS2 on passing his degree. You'll be one proud mum.
@-taff - Wise words indeed when looking after a loved one, as I found out only too well when I was a carer for DF and DH.
@Rosy - That was disappointing for you but you could be doing the right thing by waiting a little longer.
@snoozer - I'm so pleased for your good news on the CT scan result but sorry to hear your back isn't behaving. Nice to have someone else take over the cooking duties though, enjoy while you can!
Have a good day all, take care, usual hugs on offer. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.12
