Barclays euro account

I have a Barclays personal euro account in which I deposit cash. From October it will be possible to pay in euros only via online transactions. I get euros as a gift and it can only be donated to me in cash.
Any other bank that can let you do it?
I don't want to exchange euros into pounds as I need the euros.
Thanks.

HSBC have Currency Accounts in the major currencies incl EUR, you need to have a current account first and, of course, have an accessible branch with a full counter service.0

Thanks, I read hsbc website but couldn't fully understand how it works. Will read it again.flaneurs_lobster said:HSBC have Currency Accounts in the major currencies incl EUR, you need to have a current account first and, of course, have an accessible branch with a full counter service.0 -
Yes, wise. If the main purpose of that account is paying in cash EUR over the counter into a EUR designated account then please double check it's allowed. If so then it does seem to be the only bank still having this facility.cisko65 said:

Appears clear: "To pay in or withdraw cash, please visit a full service or cash service HSBC branch. For more information see Branch banking."cisko65 said:

Probably just being sceptical but it would be nice to see the phrase "To pay in or withdraw cash, in any of the currencies in which we offer a Currency Account, please visit........"wmb194 said:

Would like confirmation that they accept, say, EUR cash over the counter and apply that to a EUR account, and not just accept GBP and then convert it into EUR. Having any bank branch that has cash handling in anything other than Sterling is quite an outlier these days.
EDIT : Found a few more words elsewhere on the HSBC site, just about confirms the cash bit, but with a caveatWith an HSBC Currency Account, you can credit and debit your account in foreign currency cash in our Full or Cash Service Branches. However, not all currency accounts allow this.1 -
It's talking in the context of the currency account. I can imagine they might not want to accept the Hungarian forint but you can guarantee euros and US dollars. Anyway, OP needs to enquire but it looks like a good possibility.flaneurs_lobster said:

You can definitely pay in Euros over the counter to the old-fashioned HSBC currency account as I've done it myself, but for some reason you can only manage this account and view transactions in online banking and not the app.
EDIT: It shows as 'cash deposit' on the statement and is like-for-like rather than converted to sterling and back again.2 -
Yeah, sure you are right. I have a full-fat branch of HSBC within a mile or so but I know from experience that they need you to make an appointment to answer questions any more involved than "where's the ATM?", otherwise I'd go and ask.wmb194 said:
