UK CPM I forgot to display permit

I have received a parking charge invoice from CPM. I parked in my son's residential parking space and forgot to display the  permit he gave me.  Should I complete CPM's appeal form and is there a 'correct' wording. Thank you .

    If it' is his parking spot then why do you need a permit?
    he permitted you to park in his space. 

    do not identify the driver never use terms like i parked, he she etc

    Is he a tenant or a flat leaseholder?

    Does the area need a key fob to enter?

    Does his lease or AST mention parking? What does it say?

    Yes requires key to enter.

    'The exclusive right at all times to use one of the above ground parking spaces which are allocated from time to time by the Landlord or the Estate Management company for the purpose of parking private motor vehicles (one vehicle in one parking space) not exceeding 3 tonnes gross laden weight (it being acknowledged by the Tennant that the Landlord or the Estate Management company may from time to time allocate alternative but suitably proximate parking spaces provided always that the alternative spaces shall always be above ground (and the right to do so is hereby reserved).

    He does not need a permit!

    Why on earth has he accepted a commercial business running to his detriment in his space where he has "exclusive right at all times"?

    See threads about 'own space' cases including the one by @h2g2 who has got together with other leaseholders and they are suing the RTM company for imposing a PPC on them which interferes with their grant under their leases.

    The exclusive right to the space gives your son the right to exclude anyone else from the space. Including PPCs.

    So he gave you permission to use HIS parking space, you don't need permission from some third party trying to make money out of it.
