Morning all and thanks @AA for today's start - have a good trip to Northumberland. Showers are possible at any time today with a moderate breeze until around 6 pm, then sunny intervals and a lighter breeze for the rest of the evening. Cooler too.
Yesterday DS, his partner and I went to a fairly local hostelry for lunch. There was a dining area outside but it was far too breezy so we sat inside. No annoying TVs, fruit machines etc, just some pleasant background music pitched at a sensible level that didn't inhibit conversation. They had chicken skewers (tandoori for DS and peri peri for partner) served on flatbreads with sides of chips and mixed grain salad; I was more traditional with haddock & chips with tartare sauce and peas. Back home by 5pm for me with just a sandwich later in the evening. They'd made good time on their journey back from London before picking me up and I expect they will have been ready for their beds by the time they got home; luckily they're not working today so can have a lie in.
Grocery delivery is due between 11 and 12, all P&C but two short-dated items - a wholemeal loaf that's destined for the freezer and strawberries to be inspected before saying yay or nay. Once everything's put away I'll make some soup, either tomato & red pepper or spicy carrot & lentil, and prep the veg for tonight's chicken stir fry. Other than that, I'm waiting for a phone call to confirm when I'll get a visit for a shower repair, hopefully within the next day or two. It decided to spring a leak yesterday when I turned it on, with water pouring from the bottom of the wall unit. Water and electricity is not a good combination!
Hopefully it will be a simple fix.
@TA - A pity you couldn't have been at the van last week when the weather was better.
@WL - Have fun discovering all the functions your new TV has to offer!
@Gers - Glad you've got your plumbing sorted, well done that lad.
@Ruby - I hope you all enjoy Rob's leaving party, such a shame though that he won't be with you all at Butlins. You seem to be very organised for tomorrow and I hope you have a great time.
@Rosy - Hope you'll get the "right" dog for you soon, they all deserve a good home.
Have a good day, take care, hugs aplenty where needed. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.9 -
