Couldn’t see a thread so hope there’s no duplicate. My last stint at college today, just a few exam resits for some construction students this morning. Then that’ll be it for about 3 months!I’m off to Northumberland for 3 weeks tomorrow so have some shopping to do plus getting the van ready and mowing the lawn etc.
Hope everyone has a good day

Morning allThanks for starting us off Allie and enjoy your tripLooking windy and cloudy out there today.Off to a phone shop today that has a piece of fruit in it's name. My new sim card still doesn't work in my phone but it will in others so off to see if they can sort it out.Popping into DS on the way back to give him one of our new front door keys as DH put a new lock on after the old one was playing up.Hope everyone has a good day x13

Morning folks and thanks Allie. Enjoy your trip. I hope the weather picks up for you. The wind here yesterday was horrendous it never let up all day..the TV (freesat) lost all signal and I expected to find the dish on the ground. I didnt, but i did need to do a channel reset. Less wild today but instead the rain is back!
My excitement of the day was watching a battle in the sky above me! 2 crows having a real go.at a buzzard! It had obviously been up to no good and they objected.
DD let me know she was safely back from the IOW festival last night and everybody had been fabulous!
Have a good day all if you can and take care x"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"12 -
Raining here quietly steady and much cooler so I slept last night and feel better !

stay safe all13 -
Morning all.
Looking a bit dull here today so I'll check the forecast before hanging out some washing.
Really looking forward to having my nails done this morning and the gels removed as the longer nails are now irritating me. We also have a booking at the tip so can offload some stuff from the garage.
Did some last minute babysitting for DD last night as she had a netball match and her DH was still at work. Luckily both boys were asleep when I arrived and stayed that way until I left. We also bought a new tv yesterday so DH had the fun of setting it up. I'm sure it has all sort of functions we haven't yet discovered but the picture is so sharp; much better than out old one.
Well done on your Award Derek and thanks for the super photo.
Have a good day everyone.13 -
Good morning
Thank you for the start @AlwaysAllie
Well done for the award @Derek
Much cooler this morning. Garden desperately needs rain.
Picked a courgette yesterday that looked more like a marrow, three more will be ready soon.
Take careIf you walk at night no-one will see you cry.11 -
Morning all - thanks for the start @AA - have a fabulous trip. Northumberland is beautiful, I have many happy memories of the coast.Yesterday I decided that I wouldn't do a washing load as the forecast was bad. Whilst at my exercise class the sun was beaming like theatre lights so I was then regretting not having the washing out. Just before I started my drive home the torrential rain started and barely stopped for about an hour.
Today all is grey and damp so it won't get done again. On Monday I contacted a plumber to sort out my downstairs loo as the dribbling valve worried me, it was still functioning though barely. Yesterday the young lad phoned me as I was leaving the class and I told him to just go into my house and start. When I arrived his van was parked at a different house - he'd gone inside!
Luckily they weren't home so he quickly left and came down to me. Made me chuckle and have a cold sweat at the same time. Anyhoo... he fitted a new valve and also did magic stuff on the upstairs bathroom basin, seems the pipework was gunged up, not just the U bend, so he took off some and sorted it. I've got a bidet shower hose so he used that to blast water down it. He suggested that I use the vinegar / bicarb and boiling water regularly. He also put the shower trap back in the plughole - I'd taken it out to clean ages ago and then couldn't refit it. Happy day! Before I left in the morning I collect loads of elderflower heads (grief...they don't half stink like cat's pee) so that I was able to make the cordial in the afternoon. I've left it to steep for 24 hours and will strain and bottle later on today. It's a beautiful shade of pink and very very lemony, quite sharp in fact. The hope is that it will go perfectly with gin.
This evening I have a dreaded committee meeting - I hate committees and meetings - which is not bringing me any joy, We're having it rather earlier than usual as the schools break up shortly and holidays start.Happy new TV @WL, it'll be baffling to start with.Hope that the weather is better for you @TA - watching battling birds is better than TV.Good luck at the fruit shop @Chrisca.It's good that you slept well @Suffolksue.Take care all, and hugs all round.12 -
Morning all
Dull and overcast here this morning and much cooler it’s much more comfortable to sleep in.
I have three people coming today and we are off to glamorous Bognor Regis to book a day pass to Butlins 😬 the booking will be for a few weeks time but will allow all day swimming and free fairground rides, unfortunately Rob will probably be gone by then so won’t be able to come, not that his mother would have paid for him anyway 😩 We will then come home to have a little leaving party for Rob, I have bought pizzas and salad and a cheesecake, it’s a chance for the others to say goodbye to him, I have heard nothing from the council yet so need to assume he is still going home atm.
I need to finish packing the last few bits tonight ready for an early departure tomorrow morning, we leave here at 6.30 which is much better than some flights we have got, we are driving up to the airport which is only about an hour and paying for parking. We have also booked the airport lounge so we can have a good breakfast before boarding.
Chrisca I had exactly the same problem with my last fruity phone, they ended up replacing the handset completely the replacement one worked fine, hope you get your sorted xx
Derek lovely photo xx
Have good days all and take care xx13 -
Morning all, heavy rain here but doesn't look as windy as yesterday. We've had a mad busy few days, hence me going missing. We had a great night out with our 'football family' for their end of season presentation, it was a late one though. Taxi home and as we were getting out, one of the neighbours was outside and asked if we'd seen anyone lurking. He'd been upstairs and looked out of the window and saw someone in the front garden. We hadn't, but apparently they saw him again behind the hedge a bit later! No school run yesterday as they went to Blackpool on a school trip, later back so his Mum picked him up.The car has been in the garage having something fixed, hope it's done today.Well done on your award Derek, lovely photo.Ruby , that's nice of you to do a leaving party for Rob. I hope you have a lovely well deserved break in Corfu. Can't believe we've been back a month already!Gers glad your bathroom woes are over.Elderflower cordial sounds nice.Enjoy Northumberland AA.Remmie pleased big dog is feeling better. We applied for a rescue dog last week but it was meeting a new family yesterday, tried another and he was reserved, which is good for them, but not us, will keep looking!Take care all x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. Morning all, a lot cooler this morning, which is nice for me but not the plants which I left out last night after I started putting trays and gravel in them into the greenhouse. Lots of potting on, putting the last of the glass in and cutting what;s missing, along with a GC to get some w clips to finish it off. Prettying it up is going to have to wait until the winter, my plants need in now! I made a lemon drizzle cake yesterday for OHs stepdad, he loves it, but OHs mum can't do lemons in any shape or form and it was not long his birthday so..and I'll drop it off after when I go and get some clips etc. Other than that, not a lot is happening..Ruby, hope Rob enjoys his party, it's so upsetting to think he's going back to a carp life with his mum. Have a lovely holiday though...Gers, it is very chenageable at the moment isn't it? I took OH to work the other week because it was hammering down, by the itme I got home it was sunny, in the space of fifteen minutes...Allie, enjoy your break! TA, I think we've got your wind today. Rosy, a lurker? That's quite scary! Hope you'e successful soon in your new dog search. TTB, fingers crossed the dentist says no....remmie, good to hear bigdog is getting better. Izzy, nice to hear your little one is happy in the cool
Shout to the MIA, hopefully you're all well, just not posting for whatever reason! {I know the feeling, had a bit of posting fatigue for a while...just couldn't keep up with everything] Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi10
