Standard DCBL letter stating they can add debt collection fees ?

" a reasonable sum may be added for the debt recovery fees"

IT IS A FAKE ADD-ON CALLED THE OSNER SCAM AND APPROVED BY THE BPA

NOTE: They are not claiming for debt collection, THEY NOW CALL IT DAMAGES ? which is rubbish and misleading you and the court. IN reality, this fae add-on is called DOUBLE RECOVERY which is NOT allowed

DCBL will try and tempt you with discounts before court ….. it's so feeble, so much so you ignore

    OPTIONS FOR DCBL NOW

1: GAT A COURT SPANKING when you can claim your costs

2: DISCONTINE as they do with all the rubbish cases. Iggnore the TRY-ON

Judges already know about this scam

With an issue date of 22/05/26 and providing you complete(d) the AoS before or on 10/06/26 your defence deadline date is 4.00 p.m. on 24/06/26

Thanks for all the posts; they are very reassuring and helpful.

This is what they are claiming now:

    • Amount Claimed: £197.04 (I have no idea what the original invoice was for as I never received it. The first correspondence I received was from DCBL and they were claiming £170.00, so £197.04 probably includes added interest)
    • Court Fee: £35.00
    • Solicitor Costs: £50.00
    • Total Amount: £282.04

MCOL status is now as follows:

    • Your acknowledgment of service was received on 01/06/2026 at 01:07:40

If the deadline is 4:00 p.m. on 24/06/26—thanks for clarifying—that's plenty of time to prepare a defense. I will do it ASAP and won't wait until the last minute.

    Thanks so much again.

If DCBL asked for £170, they added on the fake £70, so the original pcn invoice would be the maximum figure of £100 , so now £170 plus interest

The other 2 figures are allowed in court claims , court fees and legal fees

Please Note, no S in the word Defence

Use the defence template thread in announcements near the top of the forum, adapting paragraph 3, same as the dozens of other cases on here over the last 9 months

Thank you, spell check was using US spelling, I did not notice. I have adapted paragraphs 2 and 3 to my story. Would you be kind enough to have a look?

    2. The allegation(s) are vague and liability is denied for the sum claimed, or at all. The delay in bringing proceedings lies with the Claimant, making retrieving material evidence difficult, which is highly prejudicial. The Defendant has little knowledge of events, save as set out below and to admit that they were the registered keeper and driver.

    3. It is admitted that the Defendant was the driver. Liability is denied on the basis that the contravention did not occur; a valid payment for parking was successfully made. The Defendant has contemporaneous bank records conclusively proving that a valid pay-and-display ticket or permit was purchased at the material time. Furthermore, no notice was placed on the vehicle's windscreen, and the Claimant failed to serve an original Notice to Keeper. The very first correspondence received by the Defendant was a heavily inflated £170 demand from a debt recovery agent (DCBL). The Claimant is put to strict proof to demonstrate any breach occurred and to produce their full, unedited payment logs for the date in question, which will show the Defendant's payment.

Hello, I have received this email from DCBL:

    "Good Morning

Without Prejudice to the above, in order to assist the Court in achieving its overriding objective, our client may be prepared to settle this case - in the event you wish to discuss settlement, please call us on 0203 434 0433 within 7 days and make immediate reference to this correspondence.

If you have provided an email address within your Defence, we intend to use it for service of documents (usually in PDF format) hereon in pursuant to PD 6A (4.1)(2)(c). Please advise whether there are any limitations to this (for example, the format in which documents are to be sent and the maximum size of attachments that may be received). Unless you advise otherwise, we will assume not.

    Kind Regards,

    Litigation Support

    DCB Legal Ltd"

They have sent the copy of their directions questionnaire as an attachment.

So my questions are: where can I find my directions questionnaire? Will it arrive by post?

    Kind regards.
