Getting a home insurance quote

Hi
I am a 1st time buyer. I was trying to get life insurance and critical illness cover with legal and general. When they ran through the questions they declined me for critical illness but would cover me for life insurance. So I went elsewhere and have got life insurance and critical illness cover.
Now I'm trying to get quotes for home insurance (buildings and contents) it's asking if I have been declined insurance. Do I say yes or no? If I say yes the quote is coming out as £250 dearer than if I say no. 😔
