Morning allThanks for starting us off @-taffAnother blustery day in store here today.Nothing special going on here today. Will be fighting the wind to put some bedding out and hoping it stays on the line. Have some ironing to do and the kitchen could do with a good wipe down after the weekend.Congratulations to @mehefin on his award. I'm sure it was well deserved even if you don't think so!Hope everyone has a good day and doesn't get blown away x10

Actually, not much of a bit, only enough to make a cup of tea and clean up some cat sick...tmi? ...Where have the early birds gone? I haven't been doing a lot really, the heat just floored me, when your neck is sweating when you're just sitting down you know it's too hot. Greenhouse glass is almost finished putitng in so now I can just count how much I smashed on the way home and replace accrpdingly. Good job too because the tomatoes are wilting every day in their tiny pots. We've been out twice this weekend, both birthdays, involved lots of food as we're supposed ot be on a diet, we have a wedding to attend in two months and neither of us fit into our posh clothes. I, of course, volunteered to help the bride with soe stuff, I will never learn...mehefin, congratulations, sounds like a swimmingly good day was had and some recognition never goes amiss
Izzy, sounds like your house is perfect for summer, I may have to borrow your cold room
hows the gentleman doing? Ruby, fingers crossed for Rob. TA, hope all went well. TTB, I saw this at some point last wek, thought it looked really nice, I do like her recipes and the hummus one rocked, II like mine with extra coriander and lemon or roasted peppers too.
Gers, sounds like the weather was a bit wild, hope it's calmer today although we could do with a lot more rain. remmie, hope the big dog is feeling better. Allie, hope you are! Yorkslass, doing the radiators too is extra brownie points for youI've missed people i know so hope you're all doing OK...Take care all...

Morning all
Looks to be another lovely day although it’s still a bit windy, yesterday was much cooler than it has been which was quite nice, the temps in Corfu next week will be up to 37deg 🥵 I think we will be in the sea quite a lot to cool off.
Rob coming today and only three more days with him ☹️ Unless I hear anything from the council in the mean time, hopefully this week.
Dinner tonight will be bacon egg and chips, dd is off so she will probably cook, I have some washing to hang out and another load to go in afterwards.
I have mainly packed I just need to put shoes in once I have decided which ones to take and the last minute bits which can be done Wednesday morning.
Derek many congratulations on your award very well deserved xxx
Have good days all and take care xx10 -
Morning all - thanks @Taff for the start. And a HUGE congratulations to @Mehfin on being recognised for all that you do for your community, it's well deserved. My time at Pooley Bridge were mostly lovely. On the drive down I took my time, did old lady driving as my days of racing down the M6 are far behind me. Very sunny day on Saturday until late afternoon when it seemed that the end of the world was on the way. I'm not scared of thunder or lightning so enjoyed it until the final crack.Yesterday I left before breakfast, drove through bouts of torrential rain for almost all the way. The point of being away was to be with my closest friend and that was a great success, we chatted and chatted, sipped wine, grazed and put right all our problems, at least for the time being.I stripped the bed last night and put on the bedding I had taken with me. The washing machine is full but it won't run today. It's grey and watery outside. This morning it's my exercise class. I've ordered a couple of 2kg dumbbells for home as my weight loss has left me with dreadful bingo wings, much worse than 'normal'. When I was a swimmer my arms were lovely and toned, not now!
So, need to do more exercises than once a week.
@Ruby - my fingers are firmly crossed for you and Rob. xI hope that all our poorlies are doing a bit better, hugs to all.8 -

Good morning
Thanks for starting Taff, nice to see you.
We had a few showers yesterday, but thank goodness it was a much cooler night, although I cant say I slept any better. The suns already out but the forecast is for a cloudy, cooler day.
Usual chores to do today, ham egg and chips tonight. Big dog is slowly getting better, at least he was eating yesterday. You know when they are unwell.
Mehefin, many congratulations.
Ruby, it would be fantastic if you got some good news about Rob before your holiday. Fingers crossed.
Have a good day all. Take care.7 -

Morning folks and thanks TAFF. Greetings from my retreat in Nidderdale. I don't know what happened to my post yesterday, I waffled on, pressed post and it disappeared. Maybe they thought it was an alien posting on my phone.
What weather yesterday! 3 torrential downpours but no thunder and lightning. Today forecast to be dry with a gale force wind blowing. It can only be better tomorrow! As usual all alone down here by the big field but Mr next door was here yesterday for a short time. Its sad really, they only bought the static last summer, just for w/e stays, and his wife died suddenly in the winter. He is undecided whether to sell it or keep it as he's not happy coming on his own. Poor chap I know how he feels. it was a while before I could face coming on my own.
I think in view of the wind it will be a feet up reading day. Any excuse! Congratulations Derek, we salute you. Well deserved! Have a good day folks if you can and take care all. Xx

Good morning from sunny Mehefinland
Thank you all for your good wishes re the award - I'm still in a state of shock (in a good way). As I said yesterday ,I never expected anything like this , so I was completely gobsmacked taken aback when they announced it. I was equally pleased that our library lynchpin was recognised too. A well deserved accolade for all the work she has done over the years we have been a community run library. ( it's our 10th anniversary next year!!!)
Some pictures are coming- just need to find a way for this techno-dinosaur to upload them from the steam punk 'phone .It will be done!
Hugs and spoons as always.

here goes- I'm the one next to the Chair ( with the big chain)!
