Evening all from Mehefinland
Well after becoming a quad and losing my entertaining and informative post twice this morning gave up!!
However I attended the civic service booted and suited (or done up like the dinner of a dog if you prefer) which was very well attended if a little long. The chain gang (other council chairs, or mayors) were there in force, as was the High Sheriff in a very ornate costume/regalia. After the church service we hightailed it to our community centre for a bunfight led by the local Air Cadets, Brownies etc. A very welcome and expansive buffet was provided for the attendees which was well received. Then to the wards for community service 1 for the 2 people who run our local history group,1 for the lynchpin of our library, 1 for our primary school for the exemplary way in which they dealt with the horrific fire earlier this year and then completely out of the blue -ME. I was completely blindsided as I had no inkling that this was happening. I will admit to getting quite emotional as I know Dawn would have been so proud, even if she would have said "another thing to dust!!".I never became a councillor for recognition, or political motives; only to put something back to the community in which I live, so to be acknowledged is a great honour.
I will attempt to upload some pictures of the day when I get access to the official ones.
Absolutely exhausted - glass of wine ,or two, may well be consumed this evening
Hugs and spoons as always

Congratulations @mehefin - You put in a lot of work. You deserved the award for the work with the library and school going above and beyond what many council chairs would have done. Your fellow MSErs are proud of you.
