Amex 5% cashback Platinum Card

Hi Everyone, I have received my american express platinum card with the 5% for the first three months but my credit limit is only £700 which is shocking seing as my amex blue card is £3000 but I guessed they are not silly because the lower the credit limit the less cashback they will have to pay out.
So I was thinking can I make a payment to the card for example £2000 so the card will be in credit and I can therefore spend more on the card giving me more cashback?
Appreciate any feedback

Something similar happened with me. I had the Nectar AMEX with a large limit and the platinum card came with a very low limit.
I phoned them and they allowed me to split the limits as I wished. By the sounds of it, assuming your AMEX blue is still active, you have £3700 to play with. You should be able to quite easily split this between the 2 cards as you choose by phoning them.
To answer your original question, I don't think you are able to pre-load the card. I believe ( as it's been mentioned before) that the £700 cap on monthly spending still applies.Whilst my posts do not constitute financial advice, I am always, without fail, 100% right!

I recently got a amex platinum card ( 5% cash back one) with a 9k limit they even called me just before they sent they card out to check if the limit was ok . May be worth giving them a call as £700 seems a bit low .Hi Everyone, I have received my american express platinum card with the 5% for the first three months but my credit limit is only £700 which is shocking seing as my amex blue card is £3000 but I guessed they are not silly because the lower the credit limit the less cashback they will have to pay out.

Can anyone confirm how the cash back for the 5% offer should be shown on thier statement. My statement seems to be just showing at double my spend rather than 5 times.0
