You might be lucky but I wouldn't expect them to pay out using 30p DD

If they went to the trouble of changing the requirements to "household" direct debits, and making a big PDF list of all the accepted options, chances are they're serious about who they want and DON'T want to pay out to. I'm guessing sites like 30p DD are on their radar by now. Sure, sometimes people fall through the cracks for one reason or another, but I wouldn't risk it. You could instead maybe use some of your existing direct debits, or look for cheap SIMs like Lebara that are on the list.

I don't think you can pull money into Chase by DD. Even if you could, this wouldn't be household bills

I believe they're referring to the website 30pence.co.uk where you can set up cheap direct debits for the purpose of qualifying for bank switch offers. Normally it's not a bad way to go about it, but only when bank switches aren't fussy about what kinds of direct debits you need to qualify.

I was successful last time using a dummy account from Chase and 30p direct debits. This time around it looks like your direct debits have to be from their list. My son is using 2 of our Id mobile contracts but it's too soon for him to get his £180.

Id mobile would only let me set up one a month though, so I'd take the advice about Lebara.

If 30p DD is not on the list (which it isn't) then it doesn't qualify as a household direct debit for the purposes of this offer. Lebara is on the list so no problems there.
