hi all can anyone advise me
i got my full house painted about 3 weeks ago and there is paint left over
so lastweek i got new wooden flooring down with new skirting boards, the skirts have come with a primer coating on, the walls are painted with white emulsion paint and old skirts had oil based paint
now should i paint the new skirts with the left over emulsion or use the white oil based paint

You don't want to emulsion skirting boards, use the oil based gloss.30+ years working in banking2

You should not paint wood with standard emulsion for walls and ceilings.
You should use either oil or water based gloss/satinwood.1 -

But if you are using white, be warned. It will turn yellow over time. Some brands go yellow quite quickly, others take a few years.

Water based stays white.
7yrs and it's still fine.
If you have small children then oil based is tougher on kicks and knocksI can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

I think it depends on the paint. I've used Johnstone's Aqua satin and it's a white now as it was 8 years ago. Oil-based though, will visibly yellow. It occurs less in direct line.1
