Do not use this organic meat delivery company!

Hi
I know many of you order veg and meat boxes and I wanted to tell you about a bad experience ive just had with a company called Save the bacon.
Their website looks impressive enough and the choice is great.
I made an order a few weeks back and was firstly disappointed that they didnt confirm the date of delivery like they say on their website and the email they did send saying the order would arrive the next day, was actually incorrect.
When I got the order, there was no invoice as appartenly they didnt have time to produce them so I found it very hard to remember all the items I had ordered. Two of the items had wrong use by dates on them. One was 4 months in the future for some steak mince burgers and one was in the past by 6 months. Some contained no dates at all. On calling them she told me she had no idea whether the items had been frozen or not as they had run out of things and filled up with frozen stock instead. So I have assume they havent and have frozen them as they would have been wasted!!
Their customer service is much to be desired, all contact we have had has been fairly short and not very polite.
Ive used some bacon already and found the quality to be much below other organic companies I have used. The chicken I had was a good flavour but was positively dirty looking with many feathers still left in and had bits and hairs stuck to the skin.
Also the bacon I opened had a long date and I usually keep it quite safely covered and opened in the fridge but this lasted less than half the time of the usual meat I have.
I have looked on the council website and they actually print the environmental health report for the businesses in the area. This scored one out of a possible 5 stars.
Im not ususually one to judge so quickly but thought I would send out a warning about these people as it is a less than professional outfit and im deeply disappointed with them, the last thing i want is for others to become sick after my bad experience!!

check that their meat is organic because they cleverly hide behind an organic label when much of their meat is not organic0

Good point kittie, they do point out which are organic and which are free range when you order although due to their other working practices I have doubted the origin of the produce!0

sorry to hear about your experience. I have used many meat delivery services around my area, some better than others but generally not as bad as you describe! The last few orders I've had have been with Tor To Tor and they have been pretty transparent with what they offer.0
