I agree but it may be useful to have them come out anyway, just to see what their suggestions are.
Many congratulations!4 -
That is SO exciting, @Elisheba. It is probably going to mean pulling your horns in a bit on the financial front, but if there's one thing we all know about you, it's that you can pull out the frugal stops when circumstances demand it. I wish you all the very best with it all.
I can't comment on the company you mention as I have never used them & know nothing about them. It is worth bearing local independent tradespeople in mind though. The local builders who did most of our fairly recent renovations (2020 -2022) did a very good job of converting a horrid dank understairs cupboard & an equally awful downstairs loo into 2 excellent storage areas - one a walk-in pantry, the other a utility area (not sufficiently big to walk into, but houses all our cleaning stuff, washing machine, etc, with a handy tiled work surface too). People who do this sort of stuff for a living can often see the potential in the most unpromising tiny, under-used spaces & can custom-fit.
As you are committed to your holiday on Skye, I should just go along & enjoy it. If the move/relocation all comes off, you are going to be very busy, so it will probably be a welcome opportunity to fit in a bit of relaxation. If you feel you should be progressing things, you can always take a notebook & designate a planning day.
Good luck!

Remember....if you have to put it on a credit card, extend your overdraft or take out a loan to buy whatever it is, you probably can't afford it, as that's not your money, it's somebody else's!10 -
I am so so excited for you and will be eagerly following developments. Definitely read reviews for firm mentioned, said from family experience. Have a wonderful Christmas and a lovely holiday x4

Agree re the tiny brown bird company, friends had a 'mare with kitchen fitting. Well done on your new place though, hope it all goes well.3

Fantastic news and something to look forward to.
I can't comment on bird company. We lived in our house for a year with very unsuitable rooms and then had local builders in to do the work. We did this in 2 separate batches. We had a Howdens kitchen which has been in 10+ years.
Fingers crossed all goes well for youInterest beater challenge £365 for 2026 £180.01/£365
