New Roof - Building Control

Hi All, 

I'm replacing 100% of my roof which I understand requires building control. I assume the roofer applies for this. However, is it independently inspected when the roof is replaced in order to get the building control certification?

What do you mean by 'independently'?

It's inspected by the building control if they want to. It can be your local council or some authorised building control company.

As it it's checked by someone other than the roofer.

If your roofer is a member of the NFRC competent persons scheme he can self certify the work without going through Building Control.
If he isn't you need to make sure Building Control are notified about the work and pay the fee. Alternatively a private BCO can be used.

Only if you delegate it to him before commencing the wotk
Personally I would do it myself

My roofer is a member of the scheme and will be sorting out the BC requirements for me.
