Hello to all
I've got an issue with a seller. I won the item, paid for it, and agreed the collection. The seller provided me with the collection address.
However, when I arrived to collect the item, the seller was in (I actually saw her behind the front door), refused to answer the door, and thereby refused to hand-over the item. It was extraordinary and I've never experienced anything like before! They subsequently refunded me money paid for the item.
My issue is with my wasted costs. The seller has been manipulative, and even gone on to abuse the feedback policy to leave a negative comment with a positive feedback (quickly removed by eBay).
I am truly narked about this, and am considering taking some action, but the one piece of information that I don't have is the seller's surname to potentially serve documents upon her. Is there a way to obtain this, short of visiting the local council and pouring through the Electoral Roll? I've contacted eBay, and they have refused to assist - it seems to me that if they refuse, and block my ability to enforce a legal contract, that they might become legally liable by proxy as the broker of the contract?

What documents are you going to serve on them?
Contractually wise you are not out of pocket as you've paid nothing, so you nothing to claim.6 -

Unfortunately I can't see any possible claim that can be made here and I wouldn't waste your money trying.
It's a nasty thing to have happened and no doubt you are angry, but I would advise that after reporting them to ebay , you let this go.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
