Got a ticket from UKPC on 22.11.24 for parking on a Private Court on 09.11.24. Sent them a letter by recorded delivery on  26.11.24, which was delivered & signed for on 27.11.24, explaining that I was pricing up a job, when I realised I had gone to the wrong address I was rang them whilst still parked & when they finally replied I moved on.  6 wks later on 13.01.25 I get a letter to say that it is now too late to appeal & the charge has now been escalated to debt recover. I sent another letter to explain the date I sent the letter & receive their letter! Surely they could use their discretion & let me pay the £40. Never heard another thing until a letter from the CNBC County Court said that I was being taken to Court by dcbl on behalf of UKPC & the cost is now £262.08. I'm unsure if this is a scam, but I can't talk to anyone at the Court & am really worried that I will have to pay this amount because otherwise they might give me a CCJ & I've just got my life on tract!! What do I do & how? Thank you

Why would they use their discretion?

These are bully boys who want money and will try everything they can to extort it from you.

1. Read the newbees thread.
2.Appeal to the landowner
3. It's not a scam
4. You won't get a CCJ unless you ignore or lose at court and then fail to pay.

Post a redacted copy of the letter you've had from the court.

People on this board will help you beat this.

Don't worry, they'll discontinue at the eleventh hour. Usual DCB Legal nonsense.

Your letters probably highlighted you as low hanging fruit and likely to cave in after a court claim.

Read the newbies thread and firstly you need to use a Government Gateway account to log in to MCOL online

Its definitely a live court claim,  from UKPC via DCB LEGAL ( not by dcbl   )

Post the issue date from the top right of the claim form and also post a redacted picture of the POC on the lower left of the claim form after hiding the VRM details first 

Study the newbies sticky thread in announcements near the top of the forum,  second post too

Show us the Claim Form with the same 4 things redacted that you see in the hundreds of other threads exactly like yours. Read half a dozen claim threads first. We do this daily.
