Thank you.So to clarify -
1. send an email to them
2. use the template on the thread;
On the template
1. Didn’t quite follow this bit -
“I confirm that my address for service for the time being - assuming you don't faff about and delay any claim - is as follows, and any older address must be erased from your records:
[Correct address here]” - what’s the significance of an old address? Is that only needed if we’d moved house?
2. we have found receipt of payment for parking now on a bank statement (wasn’t paid by us but my dad) we don’t know the exact amount of time we overstayed. Would it be worthwhile asking a question to get that detail?
3. Would there be anything you’d recommend adding to dispute the claim further? For example - should we add in reference to circumstances that led to marginal overstay (i.e two very small children and their needs). Or too much detail to share?
thanks again0 -
1. Yes it's mainly for removing old addresses but does no harm to confirm the address for service.
2. I bet Dad paid for the wrong car or made a VRM typo. Ask the solicitors for a redacted payment log from the machines and tell them you suspect a VRM typo. Attach the receipt of payment for parking now on a bank statement to help their client to narrow it down. If Dad had access to another car at the time, tell them that other VRM too and require their client to check if a payment matched that other vehicle or alternatively, was there a close match to the actual vehicle that day? Insist on this so you can understand the situation....
NB: if they refuse, that really helps the defence later!
3. No. Do not talk about the kids/delay. Are you sure there was an overstay and not a VRM typo?PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Hi
just giving this a nudge. Any advice on my response appreciated. See below. I’m unsure whether point 3 is right or not.ThanksDear Sirs,
Your Ref. ############
Proposed Legal Proceedings
Claimant: xxxxxx xxxxxxxx Ltd
I refer to your letter of claim.
I confirm that my address for service for the time being - assuming you don't faff about and delay any claim - is as follows:
<address>
The alleged debt is disputed and any court proceedings will be vigorously defended.
I am sourcing and seeking independent debt advice and as such, I formally request that this matter be put on hold for an additional 30 days, in accordance with the Pre-Action Protocol for Debt Claims 2017 ('the PAP').
I note that the amount being claimed has increased by a hugely exaggerated amount which the Government called "extorting money from motorists".
Don't send me your usual blather about that. I have a few questions, and under the PAP I am entitled to specific answers:
1. Am I to understand that the additional £70 represents what you lot dress up as a 'Debt Recovery' fee, and if so, is this nett or inclusive of VAT? If the latter, would you kindly explain why I am being asked to pay the operator’s VAT?
2. With regard to the principal alleged PCN sum: Is this damages, or will it be pleaded as consideration for parking?
3. Please see attached proof of payment for parking on 11th July paid for by my father. I can only assume there has been a VRM typo on the vehicle. Can you ask your client for a redacted payment log from the machines so I can understand the situation better?
Yours faithfully0 -
It is quite often that when a passenger pays for parking, they forget themselves and in whose car they are travelling and will iput their own car's VRM into any parking ticket terminal. This is why you want the log of VRMs that paid for a ticket around the time that you parked. Of course it may be that the PDT didn't require a VRM at all.Jumper37 said:Thanks again for coming back to us
