How to switch off this radiator

How do I switch off this radiator. Have attached pics. Thanks

    10,000 Posts Second Anniversary Name Dropper
    Do you know which end is the inflow? If not turn the heating on briefly and stay by the radiator to see which end warms first. Turn the top of the valve at that end to turn it off... the plastic top is missing but you can use pliers to turn the top.

    Fifth Anniversary 10 Posts
    Just checked. My british gas annual service is due. I have booked this week. They should be able to fix this. I will be around to see how they fix it.

    Just make sure you have insurance cover for radiators.

    BG have different levels of cover some are just for the boiler.

    Yes have the full one. They actually switched on this radiator last time.

    You probably need to get some new easily adjustable radiator valves fitted.
