Letter of Claim

Hello I have read the newbies thread and am I little confused.
In the FAQ part it says:
"Pre-action stage:
If you have a 'Letter of claim' or Letter Before Claim (LBC), a claim IS likely.
A 'real' LBC gives a 30 day deadline and reply forms. DO NOT use the 'reply forms'. You do not have to declare your finances!
PLEASE NOTE THE ABOVE IS THE ADVICE TO RESPOND TO A LETTER OF / BEFORE CLAIM, THIS IS NOT WHAT TO DO IF YOU ACTUALLY HAVE A CLAIM FORM
(that's also easy - no CCJ risk asking as you act quickly - but actual Claims are dealt with lower down in this post).
If the parking firm is using Gladstones, DCLegal, BW Legal or other solicitor and you have a LBC or LoC (a letter) then search the forum for the solicitor's email and reply robustly as follows:
DO NOT SEND A LETTER."
It then goes on to give a template letter, and I think I'm supposed to do this, but it says in capitals letters DO NOT SEND A LETTER.
I have a Letter of Claim from DCB legal for parking for 16 minutes outside tesco. The parking charge is from National Parking Control and was never previously there. From looking at this forum, it seems cameras and a sign were put there in December.. Tesco are not the landowner : I did try and contact them. The landowner has an address listed but no phone number. I sent a letter but didn't receive a reply.
I was the driver, but the car isn't registered in my name, and the letter is addressed to the keeper.
Any advice gratefully received! Thank you :-)

I am not sure what your question is... how can we help you susie?

If the car is not in your name - what are you worried about?0

Ok, I think the wording is confusing but I appreciate you replying.
If I send an email, does it matter if I send from my personal email or should the person who is the keeper send?
Many thanks1 -
The keeper does it all, you are their advisor, just as we are your advisors, but we are all helping the keeper, because the paperwork is in THEIR name, not YOUR name
If the keeper wanted to throw you under the bus, they should name YOU as the driver, to the Parking company and CC in the lawyers too
At the moment you are a stranger to the claim, regardless of who was driving, because the letters are not addressed to you
So the keeper emails the correspondence, no posting letters, everything by email is better, cheaper, quicker3 -

The keeper now waits for the inevitable court claim to arrive in the post
When it does, we and you can assist them to defend it1 -
Why not just search the forum for their specific sentence about VAT? You'll see why we didn't need to see that reply.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

How would I know to search for a sentence about vat? This forum is so bizarre. You say you're helping people but you're extremely antagonistic and the advice is opaque.0 -
Sorry, I didn't mean to be opaque!
We deal with 100 new posts every day (in our own time) and every reply from the DRA solicitors is a template, seen thousands of times before in recent years.
Once you know that, you'll know to search the forum before showing us their replies.
The sentence about the VAT acronym is the obvious unusual search term. The acronym is a pretty unique word. That's why you might choose that line. Forums work best when searched, not by sitting on a single thread.
Did you do the search that I suggested, now? You may not realise: I was hugely helping you by suggesting it because you'll find what happens next, proved hundreds of times.
Seeing that these cases end up discontinued after court claim/defence, usually reassures new posters.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
