Thought about one of the larger air fryers. Potentially a greater saving in use and purchase.

Doesnt a combi microwave do some of the same things ?

Apparently these days some even combi microwave / air fryers.

Thank you all for your helpful and clever advice. I've come back to share my decision with you.

First, some were asking about the models. My current oven is Hotpoint SA3-340HIX electric fan oven/grill, 66 litres. It's discontinued and cost about £250 new a few years ago. The replacement I'm considering is Bosch CBG6750S1 compact electric fan oven/grill, 47 litres. It's just been phased out, so reduced to £600. It's not got microwave or steam function. It's like what I already have, only smaller volume and a better brand.

Secondly, I've been asked what other cooking appliances I have. That's a Hotpoint electric dual induction & halogen hob, which I use almost daily. And I had a basic dial knob small microwave oven, which I used daily. It stopped working (because a visitor ran it empty!), and I got a gifted combination microwave/oven/grill. It's big and takes up a lot of worktop space. So far, I've only used defrost and microwave functions. I'm new to it. I have no more space for appliances, as I also have an electric kettle and a toaster on the worktop.

Thanks for all your sensible advice NOT to replace my oven. I'm having to budget, which is why I asked about electric consumption. It doesn't make economic sense for (turns out only) modest money saving on electric bills, in exchange for such a big capital expense of a new oven. I see that now!

I've given my Hotpoint oven a good thorough clean. It looks new. And I've ordered a second mesh shelf from a spares online outlet for £15. My oven came with one mesh shelf and one solid tray shelf. I removed and never use the solid shelf, as it blocks the fan from reaching the whole oven cavity. That's noticable with cake baking. So with just one mesh shelf, I wasn't filling my oven. One tray of 12 muffins for 20mins at 180'C and followed by another tray for another 20 mins. I think having two mesh shelves inside the oven to use at the same time will improve energy efficiency. I take delivery tomorrow. I can't wait to try it out!

Can't comment on running costs but might also be worth looking at Samsung smart dualcook ovens. It's a single oven but with a panel so you can split it in half and cook different things at different temperatures. I tend to only use the top, obviously it isn't completely insulated from the bottom,  but probably uses less energy than heating the full oven.
