Morning all, thanks Scarlet for the start. We have sunshine and a gentle breeze again today with top temperatures of up to 25 deg and a forecast of more to come for the whole week.
I often complain about my living room being the coldest room in the house but it's a blessing when the weather's hot!
DS came yesterday and turned the mattress on my bed for me and then took me to Wickes where I bought the paint I need for the radiators (15% off). After that we had a lunch of omelette and toast with two of the eggs being double yolkers - not had any of those for a long time. Two loads of washing done in the afternoon, then it was chill time for the rest of the day. Nothing exciting planned for today, just the usual daily tasks. Tea will be a cheese & ham kyiv, spicy wedges and the last bit of braised red cabbage.
@Scarlet - Well done to your son on finishing the race, I hope he's recovering well!
@remmie - So sorry to hear your DGD is still having problems at school, a stressful situation for all concerned.
@mehefin - That's a shame about the plant sale but at least your efforts won't have gone to waste as I'm sure the primary school will appreciate the donation.
@Ruby - Fingers crossed for some good news from the council this week.
Here's hoping we'll all have a good week and can enjoy the sunshine. Healing wishes for the poorly ones, take care. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.8 -
Hello All
Just a quick post from me. My party on Saturday was lovely and I wasn't allowed to do anything ( quite hard for me so told to sit on.my hands) YesterdayDD cooked roast for her dad and my DH.
When I went to bed last night I remembered I have a voice recording of my late Ddad so listened to that a few times. Three years since he passed and I still miss him every day.
Today we are off to Derbyshire for the week ( a pressie) so have been packing this morning. A mixture of summer and comfy clothes and smart for the evening and the meds including hay-fever pills for DH.
I am taking all my cards to open tomorrow.
Ruby hope you hear something positive for Rob this week.
Remmie bless your DGD I know with my own DGD puberty and teenagers have a hard time
Derek sorry your sale wasn't so well attended but how lucky for your primary school.
I hope everyone has a good day hugs to all who want them

NRA, same, I discovered I had accidental phone call recordings, so I managed to transfer them as audio and sent them to myself on Whatsapp, they're there for as long as that lasts now...Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi8

Good afternoon from Mehefinland
Spent the morning sorting out plants and took a whole load to the primary school. Potted up some trees we were donated at the library- it is looking quite good now. Lots of compliments on Saturday about our new planters/seating. It was nice to see the space being used as we intended with people sitting in the sun with a cup of coffee and generally relaxing. More people came forward to help with the garden aspect of the place so we have a nucleus now to build on.
The litter pick at the local beach only yielded 8 bags this time- it is a well used beach and obviously cleaner as a result. There were silly people walking under the cliffs despite the danger signs. You could see where there had been cliff falls quite recently. A young woman was killed by a falling rock a few years ago at the same place. People have short memories!!
Hugs and spoons as always. Happy to take any hugs coming my way-father's day was a bit emotional
