Hi all
What's the best way to receive a large euro payment from France?
I have a HSBC Global Money account (and HSBC Advance account), but not really clear if that can be used to receive international payments.
Thanks for any help
Cheers
Luke

If look in the app you can find your IBAN and Swift/Bic code for your Global Money a/c; it can be but today a warning in my app says that it's temporarily gone back to automatically converting all non-sterling deposits into sterling.lucasharrison said:Hi all

Another option with good conversion rates and relatively low fees is Wise.0 -
Thanks. So when euros are paid into global money it's converted to GBP? Presumably this exchange rate would be better than another bank? E.g. Starling adds a 2% margin.
I saw Wise but feel a little unsure given they're a startup, it's a big payment (50k euros)0 -
Compared to usual mainstream banks Global Money has really good rates, in my experience only slightly worse than Wise’s.lucasharrison said:Thanks. Wise isn’t a startup any longer. It’s an LSE listed company and is easy to research. Last week it reported an annual net profit of £417m. It isn’t a bank, though.

Wise (formerly TransferWise) has been going for years - a good option to receive money you'll transfer into a normal account pretty much immediately.0
