Connect my iPod to new Honda?

The iPod, old model no bluetooth, works fine in our old car and I have tried changing the lead but when I plug it into our new Honda hr-v it charges but will not connect to play.
So frustrating as our "travelling" music is on it.

Not got a Honda, but,.. If you have more than one USB input have you tried them all.. Some cars have charging only ports as well.
Have you selected CD/Aux as the source on the infotainment screen?
Some iPods may not be compatible, probably pre 2015...Check the owners manual.
You might be lucky and a HR-V owner will appear soon....Drinking Rum before 10am makes you

Honda now officially supports only iPod touch (5th gen and newer) and a few old iPhones. Classic, Nano and earlier 30-pin models are no longer tested or recognised, so the car treats them as an unknown USB device and ignores the audio interface1

Thanks, yes it is an old 30pin model. I wonder if there is a bluetooth adaptor thatvwill fit it? Don't want to ditch it as it is engraved and has sentimental value?
Just found this. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/316838725646?_skw=old+ipod+blue+tooth+adaptor?&var=615332573248&itmmeta=01JXST9E47FQ0TW9X1D3RMPNBD&hash=item49c50f480e:g:1BwAAOSwkVBoLU7a&itmprp=enc:AQAKAAABAFkggFvd1GGDu0w3yXCmi1dl7o9WNpF/D7YJoPvY3Ye/UfY1rcgXtYdbR712pMhfXBqhycoT68x9jwOR88T95VLqsVW8A6i3cDLSfCr7QpXZiT2Yae8VNjNV79z526Pw8HxwIiMprY6Rv3Gb/VQxqgR8LsC/+zTaZ48JwAjScxM19otf1VG8MnGYV5t23d2g8SQYnVpqTCpmJCc+unEBR7O/hC1vPel9iS6/UfOabDeJ66AVDU+nzVx/xXHPLF8z+K2NwBTZ+Rd--+Qc4LCZpU44ZhtwUEdkqn2BEqSVYrJ0Atp73AQK30nYzuUAGhUCWIGnWRaqcjtJWte80ooBpRc=|tkp:Bk9SR7LipbruZQ
Will that work? Oh no even if it does work the ipod will not be on charge!

Probably a lot simpler to put it on shelf and get a modern iPod or just put the music on a USB drive0 -
Personally would get one that works from the headphone jack instead so you can then charge the ipod at the same timeknightstyle said:Thanks, yes it is an old 30pin model. I wonder if there is a bluetooth adaptor thatvwill fit it? Don't want to ditch it as it is engraved and has sentimental value?

Apple stopped making iPods in 2022 so not really any such thing as a "modern" iPod, though they could get a more modern one secondhandVitor said:Probably a lot simpler to put it on shelf and get a modern iPod or just put the music on a USB drive1 -
OK so we are probably going to transfer the music onto something more modern. What would you recommend? something similar, not just a memory stick so we can choose what to listen to from the various lists stored on it. I see iPods selling for over £70 looking for something much cheaper.
Is this any good? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/177185323304?_skw=mp3+player+with+bluetooth&itmmeta=01JXVYGP3J3TBP5A24V6HJXPZ7&hash=item2941117928:g:Gw8AAOSwGSxoSpC4&itmprp=enc:AQAKAAAA8FkggFvd1GGDu0w3yXCmi1dXSOhn0eVusf1eSTeY89T3xr453NAY1e+yPglwsO/HRFv5+NvIVRNgZTcUzQ0PbVvCJgrpKwIvzCX30Y5g8SfU7SKGT/3kYmRfZB7Ts7huXUxnOskOKueNesr6dKX8Th0Zu/CrT4kBLW0qQjGo7qdk5vQytPu+R4C27dD6f6cRGQbj1eJ9xR0GU5H1XYubrBQnHzf8BWz9NZJ8SVNqSdzA1HIkCNeP/VfIFeqZxQ356LEnt4U5TLuiuZLaZCezBC3B534xEgyPTz4UjxmWCk08HFqFGOw1/Nr9IjfS2LUURA==|tkp:Bk9SR47iwv7uZQ0 -
Would you be able to use an existing device instead? Smart phone, tablet, etc, and simply connect to the car audio by bluetooth/aux cable?0

I have all my music on my phone so in the car when the phone is plugged in to use the satnav I can play music too.Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.0

When I plug a USB stick full of MP3 into my Honda (CRV-2016) - It gives a usable interface to select / play them from
But it doesn't seem to support M3U file playlists

I have a somewhat similar MP3 player to the EBAY one you listed which does support Bluetooth and will connect to Bluetooth speakers and headphones OK - But I can't get it to connect to my Honda, but the phone does connect to Honda fine via Bluetooth
