Morning Gers and all who follow.
Hope everyone survived the weather last night. We had rain but no storm. The sun is shining at the moment.
I'm wide awake but may have a nana nap later.
DH and DD are organising an early birthday party for me later with friends and neighbours. I am under strict instructions not to do anything which is difficult as I'm normally the organiser lol.
Hope everyone has a good day hugs to all who want them.

Morning allA sticky night. Thunder and lightening woke me at one point but looks like we didn't get alot of rain.Had a lovely indian meal last night. Not been to this restaurant in many years but it's very popular. They seem to have laid it out that large parties of people are downstairs and smaller groups upstairs so it was a nice peaceful meal!Nothing going on today except the usual baking and watching Trooping the Colour. On my wedding day 44 years ago my mum and I came back from the hairdressers and sat down to watch it with a cuppa and that was the year that someone set off a cap gun or something and we were watching the Queen trying to control her horse as it was spooked. Always remember that even now!Have a good day all x12

Morning folks and thanks GERS. Happy Birthday NRA, is it a special one? No rain yet for us but we are promised thunderstorms on and off for most of the day. We surely need some heavy rain. And as I watered all the pots etc yesterday we are bound to get lots of it!
No plans in view of the poor forecast. I should change my bed but hang fire on washing the bedding until tomorrow when it promises to be a better drying day.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, sad or lonely. I keep hoping for better news of poor Rob's future. It's good the respite home are backing your complaint RUBY. Take care all, stay safe in this increasingly unstable world xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"14 -
Morning all. I think we've had some rain overnight as the cars are wet but the ground is dry.
The EGM was very emotional and I couldn't speak without choking, although I did manage to say something later on. The voting result was a foregone conclusion, due to the newest member's interference, and I will always hold that against her, as it was completely unnecessary and has resulted in bad feelings all round.
Anyway. I'm dancing at a church fete this afternoon and DS is coming up to take DH out for a late lunch so I'm hoping I get to see him and chat over the wedding. DDiL has been on a work trip in Europe and is travelling back today but I'll see her next Saturday for a family bbq.
Time for a second cup of tea.
Look after yourselves everyone!13 -
Morning again - the light has deserted us, too much grey and dark blue sky.The gardener bloke came yesterday, he was very good and knowledgable, not long moved up from Norfolk area. He gave me a good quote to do the work and set a date a month away. He'll cut back the lovely black elder (not black lace cap) tree once flowering has ended. My lovely usual gardener is good for the lighter stuff, weeding and moving plants, but not what I want for the overgrown thuggish bushes. He'll also dig out the old and long dead very thorny rose to leave room for the new one which arrived the other day. This morning I'm off down the south of the peninsula for a much needed hair-cut and colour. Fingers crossed for a uneventful drive without torrential rain. I've put a small washing load out on the line, perhaps I'm foolish, in hope!Sorry that you're all so ill @snoozer, it's dragged on for ages. As for a cleaner, keep her! She's sounds like gold dust. I treasure my bloke as he does what I really have always hated doing. As the song goes 'don't drink, don't smoke...' so some of my pension goes on making my life a little happier. My UTI seems to be retreating in the face of the new mega ABs, certainly I am mostly pain free though not frequent weeing free. It's the catch 22 position. I've set the recorder for the Trooping of the Colour, better than sitting through all of it a oner. What a lovely memory for you @Chrisca, does that mean it's your anniversary soon? After weeks of self-induced stress I cancelled my flight to Belfast in September and, instead, booked the coach from Glasgow. It takes a bit longer but has no stress involved - get on, stay on, have a wander round the ferry, back on and get off. No security, no little bottles of shampoo in a plastic bag, no taking off shoes and watches and, most of all, no possibility of sharing the journey with drunken and / or disruptive others. Happy day! Now, I wish everyone a good day, with sun if possible. Hugs to our poorlies and those too busy to think straight. Oh, and well done to @Izzy's DGD in her concert. You sound such a great proud granny.11

Good morning, thanks Gers.
Happy birthday NRA, hope you enjoy your day.
It's grey here but dry so far.
D's is taking part in Rat Race the Wall - it's a 70 mile run from Carlisle to Newcastle along the route of Hadrian's Wall. He started at 6am this morning and they have 26 hours to complete it. We are able to track him so dh is doing that now..
Izzy, one of your sons was a runner I think - does he still run? I remember you saying once he'd come home from a Tough Mudder injured and bleeding, saying what a great time he'd had. My son used to do the same.
We sold the caravan yesterday, with heavy hearts. We had planned, before dh was diagnosed with cancer, to have this summer as our last one in the van, as we, and the caravan and car are all old. However, it was not to be, so we've sold it. We've motor homed and caravanned for 40 years, and it's been wonderful, we've travelled all over the British Isles and gone abroad, so we have good memories to look back on. When Dh is stronger we can still go away, it will be a different holiday that's all.
I'll do an online grocery shop today - I should have done it yesterday. There are no eggs, we are down to our last crust, and the fridge is looking bleak. I'd better do it before the hunger pangs bite too deep!
Hope everyone is ok and has as good a day as they can - take care folks.

It will be on Tuesday (60!) Thank you. X
WL sorry to hear your newest member has caused upset. Enjoy your dance this afternoon x
Gers glad you are settled on your plan with no flying. We are arranging a family holiday for next year and have decided not to fly mainly due to the cost which was horrific for 6 of us. Now going to drive, channel tunnel and stop halfway with stay in hotel. Works out cheaper. X
Chrisca glad you had a lovely meal for your anniversary congratulations again x
Scarlett sorry to hear that you have given up the caravan but it's wonderful that you have such lovely memories x
Ruby please take some you time this weekend and I hope you get a reply to your complaint soon. Rob is so lucky to have you fighting his corner x
Nancy will be thinking of you and your home this weekend x

Morning All
There's been heavy rain overnight - still raining now but not quite as heavy. I think it will be a dodge the raindrops day and the washing can stay inside.
I survived the football match and was, in fact, very brave! I didn't squeal and managed to pass the ball a couple of times. Thankfully the staff won 3-1 which put one of the children into a bad mood, he's a bit of a troublemaker so no-one was bothered! I did, however have to wear the school strip that I looked ridiculous in but it was good fun although I am a little stiff this morning.
Happy Birthday NRA, enjoy your day and do nothing.
Sorry to hear you've had to sell your beloved van Scarlet but you'll enjoy your new type of holidays I'm sure.
Happy haircut Gers, hope the weather is kind to you.
What a shame WL, hope you're ok.
Sounds like a great concert Izzy.
Off to pick broad beans from allotment 1 this morning then must do some housework and make up the spare bed for my (nice) cousin coming to stay with her DH on Tuesday.
Have a good weekend. Take care. XX

Morning everyone it’s grey and damp we have had rain overnight but no thunder .CHIRSCA congratulations and pleased you had a good meal feet up today and relax . NRA happy birthday enjoy your party. GERS my hubby refuses to fly anymore he can’t stand the hassle unfortunately I don’t float very well . SCARLET yes it’s my son that a runner I don’t think he does as much now although he’s still out every week I think he’s just done the kielder marathon but I could be wrong he has me lost off but he’s definitely just done the Blaydon races but he said he’s to old for the rough stuff now although there could be worse things they could be doing.i must do some housework today although I think the washing will have to wail until tomorrow I have the chimney sweep coming tomorrow afternoon he’s wife’s a nurse and if she’s at work on a weekend he works and then they take there days off together and believe me that is an experience he sings and tells you all the poems he’s wrote very good at his job but as mad as a box of frogs but he’s a happy chippy but you need a lie down when he’s gone . Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing10
