Me and my wife are going to be applying for a mortgage in the next week or two. My wife has been changing her name and address after we got married on her bank but now when she logs into her credit club account it's showing she has no credit cards. We don't have access to the other CRA to check them.
When we apply for a mortgage will the mortgage broker and the lender be able to see everything anyway as they check multiple places I assume?
I will mention to the broker just to make sure they're aware. What I don't want is to get a mortgage in principle and then refused at the application stage because of something missing or looking odd on the file.
Is it crucial we change the name and address on all her credit cards now or will it all filter through from the bank?

Has she linked her previous name to her file?0

Well her old name was on there originally then she did her new name and it said the credit file was too thin but after a few days things showed up but not all of it.Emmia said:Has she linked her previous name to her file?
How can we check her names are linked properly?

Years ago I just added my previous name to my file with the credit file providers.Corbula said:

I can't find anywhere how to add a previous name, they all seem really locked down and can't add or change anything to any of the CRA.Emmia said:

Would it be classed as a notice of correct or a notice of dispute.0 -

I think it was in the personal information section, I also put on previous addresses.Corbula said:

Any application for credit, like a mortgage, will ask for any previous names used by the applicant(s) in the last (is it?) 5 years, much as it asks for previous addresses.
Would that not pick up the relevant credit history?0 -

I wasn't sure if they would just look at credit files and go off there, if they ask for that and use it then that's fine. It's because on the transunion file on credit club says she has no credit cards but the transunion file on the RBS app does, it also says she's not on the electoral register but the one on here she is.flaneurs_lobster said:Any application for credit, like a mortgage, will ask for any previous names used by the applicant(s) in the last (is it?) 5 years, much as it asks for previous addresses.

How long ago did she change her name? The Credit Club thing can be quite a few weeks behind real-time (as can all the other free CRA you can access)I consider myself to be a male feminist. Is that allowed?0
