dcblegal letter before claim

Options
Firstly I would like to thank all contributors, may you be of useful help to my plight. I received a letter before claim from dcblegal for an issue from 2019 when I used to live in Luton. I responded by asking them to put the issue on hold for 30 days & submitted a SAR to their client G24. After a week or so I rang dcblegal just to be sure my email was received. I was then told the issue had actually been put on hold and it was being reviewed, they would write to me if they were going ahead. After a while of hearing or receiving nothing I called again and was told the case was proceeding and dcblegal had notified me via email on 1st May 2025 & I had 30 days to respond. Just to clarify at the time I made this call the 30 days had lapsed and I searched for this so called email they alleged to have send, I could not find it. I stressed this to them whilst on the phone that there was no such email in my inbox, at that point the call handler relented and said she would request another email to be send to me.
Today 13/06/2025 I received the email with 15 contractual parking charge notices of £70 each which they say were sent to my then address. I still have not received any information from G24 their client. Dcblegal is asking for £2100 or their client will settle for £1900 if paid in 14 days. I am seeking some help on how to navigate this without being mugged and avoid court action they are threatening. I am curious to know why the 70 charge is now 140 each if I divide 2100 by 15 charges. Any help is very welcome and I do not have much time

With that amount involved,  you will receive a court claim against you,  from the CNBC in Northampton in due course . You won't be able to avoid it ( unless you foolishly paid in full, definitely not recommended   )

I assume that you have not received a court claim yet  ?

They will have added spurious £70 debt collectors fees to the pcns,  so an artificially inflated claim

If you have responded to the LoC and emailed a SAR,  it's a waiting game

You do. If you don't have a court claim yet then there's no current deadline.

    issue from 2019
List the exact dates or show us the page with the 15 charges on it.

Are those the issue dates of the NTK's or the actual dates of parking?

    You have 23/05/19 listed twice!

(You have also left your VRM showing on the example).

Well, any that are over 6 years old are out of time for Legal enforcement by using MCOL, so those first 12 are all Arkell vs Pressdram,  go forth and multiply   !  Simples

That leaves the last 4 , all expiring in the next 2 weeks

Email the 30 days LoC template response to info@ DCB Legal,  as shown in the second post in the newbies sticky thread in announcements near the top of the forum by coupon mad

Hopefully they won't issue anything on MCOL  this month
