Tips for making PC quieter?

Does anyone have any tips I could try for making my PC quieter? It's only a few months old and only has two fans in there.

One on the PSU : Corsair VX450WUK

The other on the CPU cooler : Freezer 7 Pro

No case fans, silent heatsink on the graphics card. Yet it sounds like a whirlwind when it's on. It's so loud. On occasion it seems to make a 'throbbing' noise (hope that makes sense), but usually it just sounds like I've got about 100 extra loud fans in there. My last PC had 4 case fans and wasn't half as loud.

I'm loathed to spend any more cash on the thing since I replaced the PSU and CPU fan as soon as I got it but since it's a bedroom PC, if it'll make it quieter I'll do so.

So, any suggestions?

Thanks.

How about any fans on the GPU or Chipset?

Also if you just stop each fan spinning for a
second you can see which is the culprit, it might
be a faulty fan bearing rather than the normal
    noise level.

    Thanks for the replies.

No other fans at all besides the ones mentioned.

I'll unplug the CPU fan for a sec on start up later see if it's that. Can't exactly turn the PSU fan off lol.

    Could it be vibrations?

Don't unplug the CPU fan, just temporarily stop it with your finger to eliminate it.

my last pc was really noisy, I mean helicopter taking off noisy, after a bit of investigation we found it was the twin fans on the graphics card

anyway, we took it all apart & oiled them with sewing-machine oil & it sorted it

so, if you find the culprit, oil it & see if that helps

It could be your CPU fan. Look in the BIOS setting for CPU temperature. See it it has an option to adjust the CPU target Temperature. If it does set the figure higher and it will slow the cpu fan down a little making it quieter. The trick is to set it as high as you can but not too high that it stops the cpu working!

I must admit, the PSU on my pc has gone kaput and i am having to use MrJudi's laptop (using my monitor, keyboard and mouse) till he gets round to fixing it and i really like the lack of noise. Theres just a gentle hum occasionally and the rest of the living room is silent. Its running another laptop and tower set up wirelessly too. I really am impressed.

How about getting some nice extension leads and bung it in another room, don't know if you can get them, but it's a nice idea.
I'm not sure what a good temperature for a PC is, if I have all my noisey cooling stuff going the cpu displays as 25°, turn it to "a bit quieter" mode it shows 38°, if 38° is good I will keep it on the quieter setting, I must do some research.
