How to get best Display with old PC?

I only use my PC for surfing so when I recently decided to upgrade my Win10 PC I went for a second hand Win11 PC from eBay, that was cheap but does the job.
Only thing is that despite the new PC being a better spec than my old pc, weirdly it does not have a HDMI or DVI ports. So I'm having to VGA to VGA to my monitor and as you can imagine the display is shocking.
It does have a couple of display ports, but the only cables I have are:
DVI to DVI
HDMI to DVI
VGA to VGA
Am I right in thinking that a Display port to DVI cable would be the best bet?
Or am I better off getting a USB to HDMI adaptor then use my existing HDMI to DVI cable?
Thanks.
My new old PC below.
Not sure if the info is needed but it's running 16GB Ram.
My monitor only has VGA and DVI inputs.

Displayport to DVI or Displayport to HDMI would be more or less the same - pick whichever one as the cheaper /more robust adaptor.
That's assuming your monitor doesn't have a Displayport on it (otherwise, obviously, displayport to displayport would be best).1 -
Let's Be Careful Out There0

Displayport to DVI cables are cheap and far simpler than messing about with USB converters (which need USB-C anyway) Amazon Basics DisplayPort to DVI Display Cable, 1920x1080p, 1080@60Hz, Gold-Plated Plugs, (6 Foot/1.83 m), Black : Amazon.co.uk: Computers & Accessories0

Displayport to DVI, the Amazon Basics one listed above will be just fine.0

Check if the monitor has wireless display, as that will be better.
The other thing to check is if you have a USB-C port.
Depending on laptop model, it might be you'll need to get a USB-C dock, and that dock will have the HDMI and/or DisplayPort you use. In some brands, the dock tends to cost as much as the laptop, unless you buy it second hand.0 -
VGA shouldn't look THAT nasty, did the PC detect the new monitor and is it set to the native resolution?0

It's not a laptop, it's a small form factor desktop.0 -

They look to me like HDMI
I would obtain an HDMI monitor as these adapters can be really unreliable
( especially DP to VGA )

Those are Displayport sockets.
You can tell by the shape of the bottom left hand corner of the socket and the Displayport symbol at the side of them.
