Thanks everyone. It’s very early days and I know things will take time whether there’s a will or not. I just think the bed she was found on and any foodstuff should be removed to prevent any infestation. The house will probably need fumigating
Im waiting for a call back from the police who attended to see if they can point me in the right direction.

It's great that you are taking an interest, but these things can take a long time, an heir hunter becomes involved once the estate is registered with the crown.
It's sad the lady was left, unfortunately it's going to take a long time unless an heir makes a claim.  I've a feeling the food and everything else is going to be long rotted away before anything is done, it is a very slow process.
Maybe contact the local council empty property department who should have more info for you, but again I suspect nothing will happen any time soon.

Looking on the council's website might be the better starting point. It can provide very useful info eg https://next.shropshire.gov.uk/environmental-health/private-sector-rented-housing-enforcement/empty-properties/

Hopefully OP's local authority will have something similar on their website.
Googling on your question might have been both quicker and easier, if you're only after simple facts rather than opinions!
