DVLA having an issue?

Tried to tax the wife's car online yesterday and was met with the response that the application could not continue as a valid MOT could not be found.  I checked the (DVLA) MOT database and the MOT is still valid.  Assuming that this was an admin issue with her vehicle I tried to tax mine and was met with the same problem - despite both cars showing as having a valid MOT on their own database.

Not sure where I go from here.  Taxing at the post office would, I assume, require documentary proof of a valid MOT but I cannot even provide that as certificates are no longer issued.

Whether acceptable as documentary proof, I always receive a print out of the test result.
I have had issues in the past because the MoT and V.E.D. expire on the same date, e.g. 31st March. The online renewal for the V.E.D. cannot be processed until an MoT is completed with an expiry after the V.E.D. date.
"a valid MOT could not be found." possibly because of my last sentence?

As with the poster above, I've had this previously when I've tried to tax from (eg.) 1st of July but the current, valid MoT expires on (eg.) 30th of June.

Do you have the V5 log book ?.
If so go online and print a copy of your mot.

I've had this in the past.  MOT due end of month can't tax car.  I just went past the MOT date one year by a day or so into the next month.  Problem goes away then.  I'm surprised this is still the way they do it as you say you have a current MOT.  (Just remember it shouldn't be on the road after MOT expires until driving for the pre-booked MOT)

The website always used to be very clear that the MOT must be current on the day that the tax comes into force, so if it expires on June 30th you cannot tax from July 1st on that MOT.
