Morning all from Mehefinland
Friday 13th again! Well will be better than the 12th when we had tremendous downpours in the morning. In the afternoon there was an almighty bang and all the power went off in the village and the surrounding area. A transformer up on a pole in a nearby field had 'exploded'. One of my neighbour's sons actually happened to see it go. Eventually got electric back about 7.30 last night.
Had a library day yesterday = at the library in a nearby village for a meet with other volunteers from the area to discuss mutual issues etc. , and then later after the weather improved, a session in my library sorting out the planters etc, ready for a plant sale on Saturday. 3 new volunteers turned up specifically to help with the gardening duties going forward.
new doors fitted on Monday - very swish. and they will cut down on the draughts!!
Also got confirmation of funding for the disabled toilet refurb so it was a good day all in all.
Need to cart about 2 carloads down to the library ready for tomorrow - probably do that later.
Hugs and spoons as always

Morning folks and thanks Derek for kicking off. We never got any rain at all yesterday, despite it being forecast for evening. And now we have had an announcement from Yorkshire Water that we are officially in drought conditions. Next step apparently will be a hosepipe ban. As long as we are not back to standpipes in the street again! Eeeek! I'm too old for lugging buckets of water about.
Today I must do better than yesterday when it ended up a messing about day. But I did get 2 wash loads done, if not much else! So no messing about today as the Friday Tidy awaits with a dust and vac up, down and all around. I'm sure we get more Fridays in a week than any other day. Then a hose of the plants out back whilst I still can!
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, sad or lonely. Take care all, be safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"14 -

Morning All
Drizzly this morning after a nice day of sunshine yesterday - just what we need for the last day of sports week, it's the staff v pupils football match today and I've been chosen to play! They must be very short of people as I have no idea what I'm doing and squeal if the ball comes towards me!
I picked some cucumbers and broad beans last night so things are definitely growing, if only those pesky rabbits at allotment 2 would go somewhere else.
Looking forward to the weekend just for a rest, work is relentless and I'm getting old!
Hope everyone is well and you enjoy Friday. Take care. XX13 -
Morning all
A mixed week. Crazy busy on Monday at work then getting things done at home; had to admit defeat on Tuesday when I woke up feeling dizzy and nauseous- took the day off and slept and pottered. Felt somewhat better so went to work Wednesday and now in North Wales for a few days. Being away forces me to rest a bit cos I can’t do all the things that I think need doing at home 😂. Finished up with breakfast at the coast yesterday and now inland a bit - torrential rain for hours yesterday but much better today so a walk is in order. Meeting friends tomorrow before heading home. That’s the week in a nutshell.Take care all

Morning all - it's dark and muggy here. Weird!Sorry that you're so unwell @AA, hopefully it will soon pass. I took my 'sample' to the surgery yesterday, and dropped into the dump with my rubbish bag. Apart from that I was mostly pottering around aimlessly. This morning I have a garden bloke coming (not my usual gardener) to see about drastically cutting back two out of control bushes and one wildly growing hydrangea tree. All three are like triffids and too difficult for my wee petite gardener to deal with. Sometimes, it's simply brute strength which is needed. My new Mary Berry rose has arrived so that'll need to be dealt with, something which should be easy to do.@DP1 - it was so lovely to read that you had a mostly uneventful time with your little one, she'll remember her time with her granny for years to come. I only have vague memories of my beloved granny as she lived abroad, but those I do have have not dimmed and shine bright in my dark times. Now, off to have some breakfast and answer some pressing emails. I hope that the sun is shining everywhere, hope it comes out here. Hugs to all.13

Hi everyone,
We are still a house of plague and this is the first day I have managed to get on the thread before night time when I'm usually too tired to think of a post. The children are healthy thankfully, it's all the adults who have been struck down. Bothe Steve and I have been struck down by reactions to new medications and L and B still have lingering infections. It could be worse.
The cleaner is coming this morning so there is still some tidying to do so that she can do her job, hopefully it won't take long. I'm considering what to do about her when the family move out. Is it very lazy of me to keep her on, she's a lovely young woman who is always punctual and works hard while she is here, I might wait and see how we manage moneywise when they've left before I decide for certain.
It's set to be another hot day, I might try repotting some of the house plants that need it before it gets too hot. It's not my favourite job, I have a bit of a thing about getting my hands really dirty (not enough to call it a phobia but it definitely puts me off gardening) or wearing gloves.
Salmon pasta tonight for dinner so that's quick and easy, we had egg fried rice with sticky chilli prawns last night, also easy and delicious.
Hugs to all in need.
Have a good day.16 -
Good morning
Dry but cloudy outside. Yesterday afternoon was very dark and stormy but no rain.
I gave in and did the shopping yesterday, so plenty in stock again, I bet I'll ask DH what he wants to eat and he'll say what have we got in.
No plans for today, my life just seems to be going along at the moment with nothing exciting happening.
Chrisca, happy anniversary, enjoy your meal.
Have a good day all, take care.

Morning everyone
Lovely blue skies and sunshine here this morning. yesterday was lovely too, but windy,,,I sat in the summer house with my paper after I got home from work.
Had a good chat with eldest DD in Germany last night...I hadn't spoken to her for almost a week....she's enjoying lovely weather too and has plans to go to the outdoor pool at the weekend.
I need to hoover and mop the kitchen floor before I go down to mam and dads so I'll wish you all a good day x11
