Contact IHT 400

Hi folks . I’m due to go on a trip to Nepal for several weeks in July . I’ve submitted IHT 400 and all the schedules - If there are any queries from HMRC   ,  does anyone have any experience of how they contact you ? My sister is co executor but has no clue as to how the IHT works . Do they write or phone and is it only the contact in box 17 they contact? Thank you

HMRC are unlikely to look at your return until about 5 weeks after submission.
Any queries, if needed, would then be made by post to the person at box 17 as you say.
The unique probate code is the one thing they will send by email if you chose the option on p.15, otherwise by post.
The astonishing slowness of a once fine department run into the ground by staff cuts, redundancies & low morale relieves you of any urgency to reply until you get back!
