High income child benefit charge and separation

So I have a bit of a dilemma here.
My partner (now ex not married) claimed child benefit for the whole 24/25 tax year. We separated in September 24 but have still be living together but as separate households since due to financial reasons, we have no bank accounts tied etc…
I have exceeded the threshold for the high income child benefit charge as I earned over £80k last tax year, am I liable to only pay the charge up until September when we split or do I still have to pay it for the whole year and if so would I still be liable to pay it while she’s still under the same roof?
any help would be amazing.
thank you

Usually you would only be liable up to the point of separation but I don't know if it's an added complication when both of you continue to live under the same roof. I think this is one question that can only be answered by contacting Child Benefit and asking them. I'm sure this will be a question they've been asked many times before given that many couples have no choice but to continue to live at the same address after separating.0
