So I don't slice my bludy thumbs trying to sharpen the unsharpenable.
My most hated of tasks - amongst quite a few - is to try and sharpen - with a craft knife - wifie's bludy eyeliner pencil.
The lawdbedarned combination of hard-as-steel outer pencil shell, combined with as soft-as-cheese interior ready to squidge at the merest touch, is a mix made in the purest hell.
I need help. Please - oh gawd - I need help.
I honestly don't care how much it costs - I am now drawing my state pension, and will happily hand every single penny over - but I need, need, an eyeliner pencil that does not, ever, need sharpening. Ever again.
Pleeeez.
Ta muchly.

I have a few twist up ones so never need sharpening though there is a sharpener in the bottom hidden away. I also have a pen like a felt liner from Primark that I find really good.  Other pencil like ones go in the fridge when they're blunt and need sharpening. I use a normal pencil sharpener.

    I'd suggest freezing before sharpening.

I've got a specific makeup pencil sharpener which I bought ~25 years ago in the Body Shop,  and a look on their website shows they still do one (which looks very similar) including the blade cleaner stick for £5

Can't vouch for them personally, but these seem to have good reviews!

Ooh, nice suggestions about chillin'/freezing the pencil first - I'll try that.
But much prefer the idea of a non-sharpener type of 'pencil', so will try the suggestions above.
Thank you. Oh thank you...

My first suggestion is to you and would be to tell your OH to sharpen her own eyeliner.

My second suggestion is to her and tell her to stop using eyeliner.

If anyone must sharpen the thing just use a pencil sharpener - it works fine with my soft art pastel pencils.  Also sandpaper is good to get a finer point.

I've not worn it for a while, but the two twist up options in my collection of eyeliners are one from Maybelline and one from Revlon.
