Claim form received from unpaid euro car parks/dcb legal fine

Hi all,

I’m looking for advice. I received a claim form from an unpaid euro car parks/dcb legal payment that dates back to 2022. I’ve logged onto MCOL and authorised it, so I should have received the full 28 days to file a defence or settle.

Back in 2022 I overstayed in the car park by several hours as I was incorrectly told by a colleague I could park there while I worked.

Having received the claim form I can see I’m expected to pay £292.44. What are my chances of beating this if I choose to defend? Should I just follow the template defence provided here? Also I may be leaving the country for a couple months in August, would it be easier to just send them the money and be done with it or can I wrap the paperwork up in a couple months?

please let me know if you need more information regarding my case and I’d be happy to provide it. Thank you

    Just follow the process same as every other recent ECP DCB Legal court case,  using the advice in the newbies sticky thread in announcements post 2, plus the template defence

    Definitely do not pay

    The process takes between 6 and 12 months,  not 2 months

    They usually discontinue near the hearing fee deadline in several months time

    Even if you lost at a hearing you'd pay less than the claim! But there won't be a hearing. DCB Legal will discontinue a defended ECP single PCN claim by Christmas.
    PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

    @Coupon-mad and @gr1pr ,
    I'm in a similar situation and have submitted the "acknowledgement of Service" on MCOL.  I was thinking of completing the "Part Admission" section as I don't mind paying for my 20 minute overstay + a reasonable administration fee etc.  but the money they're charging makes me want to fight their business model in court!!

    Has anyone ever continued the process using the MCOL site?

    Thanks for insights..

    I suggest that you follow the process in the newbies sticky thread and in the defence template thread,  same as everyone else

    Any offers such as £10 or £20 can and should be made at the compulsory mediation stage,  that's what it's for

    The mcol site is character restricted and screws up the formatting,  hence why it's currently unsuitable for most private parking company claims.  If the CNBC improved mcol,  which wouldn't be a difficult task, then our advice would change
