Successful POPLA appeal - Southgate Road car park McDonalds/Starbucks

Hi, I thought I would share that I had a successful POPLA appeal for a ticket received at Southgate Road Stanstead car park while at McDonalds, as the newbie thread was really useful for me in appealing. A brief synopsis, McDonalds and Starbucks are served by one car park that has spaces for the two outlets, I was issued a ticket for being in a space for Starbucks but using McDonalds. I consider the signage is not clear and deliberately misleading but this point in my appeal wasn't addressed as they accepted my appeal on the point that the car park lies within the Stanstead Airport land, where byelaws apply, and therefore the Protection of Freedoms Act 2012 (PoFA) cannot be used to hold me liable as the registered keeper. MET Parking countered this in their response but poorly (not a legality I could get my head round tbh) and my appeal was upheld on the basis MET Parking had not persuaded them that the byelaws did not apply at the site. Im unable to attach links or documents as Im a newbie, but information can be found online with a map for the Stanstead airport boundary. There are some recent similar cases in the Popla Decisions thread in announcements , including more details and maps etc, sometimes a popla assessor does get it wrong, so well done in winning your appeal
