If you've put money into the car, you might as well keep using it as you won't get that back if you sold it4.29kWp Solar system, 45/55 South/West split in cloudy rainy Cumbria.0

Prior to this, there was an advisory on a tyre and another on brake pads wearing thin.

Never had a drive shaft go.CV joints yes, not for over 20 years now. This was on old Rover's with 120k miles plus.I would keep your car, Honda's are very good cars.0

Yep, from that MoT history alone I'd not have thought the car was approaching the end of its life. But the driveshaft does look very corroded. Normally an MoT tester will advise of underbody corrosion, what's the rest of it like? This is an old Honda right?0

What's all these hundreds of pounds labour charges all about? You already know. There are "book times" for all these jobs, so if "the book" says 2 hours, they charge 2 hours. If they have a short-cut to do it in 20 minutes then they make money. What they should never, ever do is 'phone you to say the car is ready in less than 2 hours! Some garages will quote less because they know they can do the job in a much shorter time.I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....
