Tried to open an easy access savings account. KR asked for a bank statement to verify my ID. Posted first class on Sat - an idea how long they take to do this? Haven't heard anything. Will they email?

It was a Starling statement, so they don't send statements in the post.
Haven't heard anything.
Was just wondering whether anybody here had a similar experience.
Kinda putting me off them...0 -

I wouldn't be put off by a bank that checks.
There is one thing that would put me off is £1000 minium balance
Cahoot has 2
Sunny Day Saver £1 min paying 5% on up to £3000
Simple Saver £1 min paying 4.55% up to £5000000 -
KR are very old school. Things will happen eventually, but on their terms.0

If you ring them they'll give you an email address to send your bank statement to. KR 'say' they have a turnaround of around 3 days for emails and managed to allow my Fixed ISA to refix upon maturity, despite having my instructions not to 3 clear days before. If Shawbrook offer a similar rate they reply quickly to messages.0

Cahoot piggybacks off Santander banking, payments are instant, including non-banking days.aroominyork said:

Good luck with phoning them. When I rang a few weeks ago I was on hold 2 hours at a time. This happened over several calls and over several weeks until I used their call back service. Vastly gone down in my estimation after years of loyalty. Think twice.topyam said:It was a Starling statement, so they don't send statements in the post.

cahoot on the other hand are far more up to date with customer service, online banking etc. moving money to them is instant online taking less than 1 minute.0 -
No great surprise as Cahoot is owned by Santander. Will therefore share the same systems and probably personnel to a degree.NewYorkNo1fan said:
