Fatsoma drip pricing

Interesting. So long as they are charging all payment methods the same, then technically they are not doing anything wrong.
All business include processing fee's in their pricing. Just in this case they are upfront about it 🤷♀️
If OP was using a business CC then it would be a legal charge anyway. As it only covers personal cards.Life in the slow lane2 -
Its not related to fact that they might charge different amounts for different payment methods (assuming that is actually what it's for, which is anyone's guess). The issue is that the charge isn't specified up front. Anyway there isn't a choice of different payment methods at this stage of the transaction.born_again said:Interesting. The payment regulation is they are not allowed to charge extra for using cards. If there is no other payment method, then they are free to add that comment. So long as it is for both debit & credit cards.
Although it is legal to charge extra if it is a business card.
Not sure what you mean by upfront. It is there when you go to make the payment. If you look at
https://www.fatsoma.com/policies6.5 Direct pay Ticket, NFT and Voucher sales
6.5.1 Tickets, NFTs and Vouchers sold through Fatsoma's Direct Pay method are sold for Events and Offers advertised by Promoters, where transactions are processed through the Promoter's merchant account. Transactions of this nature adhere to the terms of clause 6.5.
6.5.2 Fatsoma will deduct all sums due to it relating to an Event listed via Direct Pay at point of sale. The Promoter will receive the NET balance (Ticket Price) in their own merchant account.
6.5.3 The Promoter of the Event is responsible for setting its own terms and conditions, including cancellation and refund policy.
6.5.4 It is the responsibility of the Customer to check the Promoter's terms and conditions with the Promoter before the purchase of any Tickets/NFTs/Vouchers.
6.5.5 If the Customer wishes to obtain a refund for a Ticket/Voucher from the Promoter, Fatsoma will forward on any such requests to the Promoter. Fatsoma shall not be liable to the Customer for any refunds.
6.5.6 If a Customer requests a refund from a Promoter, the Promoter shall process such request in good faith and in accordance with its terms and conditions that it had in place at the time the Customer purchased the Ticket(s)/NFT(s)/Voucher(s) in question.
6.5.7 Fatsoma is in no way responsible for Tickets/NFTs/Vouchers sold through the Direct Pay method and has no authority, and shall not be liable, to issue refunds to a Customer without the Promoter's consent.
So maybe relates to promotor, rather than Fatsoma. So maybe not for every purchase.

That's another regulation which may, or may not be part of the DMCCA. The issue I raised was the fact that the order processing fee isn't shown upfront, at the initial part of the booking procedure when you select your tickets. This is known as 'drip pricing' and it was ubiquitous with online ticket sellers but has now been made illegal by the DMCCA (along with certain other dubious practices). There's an article about it on this very website: https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/news/2025/04/fake-reviews-drip-pricing-cma-rules/born_again said:The payment regulation is they are not allowed to charge extra for using cards.0 -

The CMA told us that if a consumer wants to report a potential breach, they should contact the platform on which they spotted the review, adding that it expects platforms to have systems in place to allow people to report reviews.
Or are you hoping to claim lots of compensation for paying 99p extra?
Maybe you should have posted in Praise, Vents and Warnings.1 -
Can you not see the irony in complaining about someone perhaps being a bit shady in how they apply fees and at the same time saying if you took it further you fully intend to lie about your part in it all? Seems like one party is a lot more honest than the other here...tartopom said:I just don't like the idea of giving them anything they're not entitled to. Obviously if I went down that route I wouldn't be admitting that I already knew of the unlawfulness before buying a ticket.Mortgage free!
