Carevo Minimus folding scooter

I bought a Careco Minimus folding scooter for travelling by air.
My last trip with the scooter was to Italy was last week.
On return home I discovered one of the seat assembly bolts was missing. I contacted Careco for a replacement, unfortunately they were unable to supply a new bolt assembly but at the cost of £156 they could supply me with a complete seat assembly including the bolts. I found this rather infuriating, the girl on the phone did state they had had a few but had been sent out to customers.I would have concluded from this there seems to be a need for holding in stock these bolt assemblies. Apparently not.
Does anyone know where I could obtain one of these illusive bolt assemblies. I have hunted over-the-counter Internet but do far no luck.

I've been able to solve things like this in the past by calling into a small local engineering business who, for the price of a crate of beers, have fabricated one-off parts for me. Or perhaps your local college has an engineering workshop that could help in return for a donation?
From a consumer rights perspective, unless it's clear there's a fault, you don't have a route to a resolution here, and nor is the manufacturer obliged to hold stocks of spares.1 -
It's not clear whether it's just a missing single bolt or the complete seat assembly? If the former, and all the bolts are the same, it must be possible to buy a bolt from a hardware shop/store or somewhere like eBay?"On return home I discovered one of the seat assembly bolts was missing""they could supply me with a complete seat assembly including the bolts.""Does anyone know where I could obtain one of these illusive bolt assemblies!"

If it's just a bolt needed, than a local DIY shop should be a good starting point.Life in the slow lane1
