That;s life - have you had a look at the National Grid site to see how big an area is affected.
As a NDO breakdown engineer I spent a hot afternoon chasing a non-existent fault - caused by the sun beaming through a window and hitting an overload relay which tripped the circuit. Very frustrating.
edit PS - too much sun and not enough back up was the cause of the Spanish Grid failureNever pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill1
