Morning all, and quite nice it is so far. I shall go out for my walk in a bit as my shopping is due at 12.30. Glad you had a better sleep Gers .DH went yesterday for an updated knee X-ray & consultation for his replacement. They rang when he got back and can do it in July
. I was hoping to get a new rescue dog this summer but guess we'll have to wait now. I met my NDN in the park with her dog yesterday so we walked back home. She'd been talking to another dog owner as I came upon them, and the other dog had gone walkabout out of sight. I think she was starting to panic a bit but I'd already seen a lone dog before I came across them and wondered who it belonged to, so was able to show her. He'd gone into a bit that had lots of bushes
She was very grateful
I've put the washing out so hopefully that'll be dry when we get back from school pick up, Tea will be whatever we fancy once I've unpacked the shopping.Good luck with the job search @RedRuby1231Take care all & enjoy the sunshine.Pleased to see Jackie is enjoying life in the IOW.:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. Good morning 😊
Looking like it will stay nice and dry today, so sheets are on the line. I’ve given the bedroom a quick clean up, and just need to do the floor. I have long hair, and am always sweeping it up, especially in the bedroom.
I went to the local pantry again yesterday, and picked up some good stuff. A lot of things on offer are processed, but you do get to choose what is more suitable to your needs. The free veg are very useful.
Today, I’m going to sort through the towel cupboard. There are some towels which could go in the scrap material collection bin on the next street over.
I'm making a borlotti bean stew with mash potato for later, and the meat eaters are having steak, egg, and chips. I’ve seasoned the steak with a rub, but it won’t be cooked until this evening.
@RedRuby1231 we love a walk in the woods, but without a map, you can end up walking a lot further than planned. We have done that more than once. It does mean a good sleep once we’re home, though!
Hope you all have a good day 😊9 -
Morning all and thanks for starting us off @Scarlet. Yesterday's weather was very pleasant but today promises to be even better - dry and sunny with a light breeze and highs of 25 deg.
Yesterday I bought some YS mushrooms and have had some on toast this morning. Soft plastics dropped off at the SM and two more cushion covers sewn up. Two to go but not today as I'm going out. Nothing exciting but I need to pick up my tablets from the pharmacy. I'll combine that with a visit to Sainsburys via a hair salon to ask for a price for my hair trim etc. If I can time it right I should be able to catch the bus home before the school pick-up traffic starts to build up. I don't mind walking there but it's a long uphill walk back. I've had a reply from my MP to say he's contacted the DWP on my behalf and will let me know what response he gets. I'm not confident it will be a favourable one but at least it's progress. Tea tonight may well be a salad to use up some odds and ends from the fridge.
@Gers - Shame about the car expense but hooray the bull has been moved!
@mehefin - You're a good lad for "volunteering" - fingers crossed the on-line course will be interesting.
@TA - Wow, that was a long appointment but good news in the end and you're another step nearer to better eyesight. Hopefully you won't be as anxious next week now you know what to expect.
@NRA - Enjoy your bus trip to Norwich.
Right, must make a move. I hope the sleepless have a visit from the Sandman tonight and that everyone has a good day. Take care all, hugs. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.10 -
DP1 no I don’t mind you asking at all, I have emailed the sw twice now asking her who is going to tell Rob he is going home and when, there has been no reply 🙄 he will be able to understand with a social story ( which is with pictures) that he is to go home, but he won’t understand where I have gone or why, it’s so sad - today we spent some time looking through all the photos on my phone of him and his friends I hope that he can take some good memories with him ☹️ The sw has been a bit rubbish throughout this whole process, that was part of my complaint that she didn’t even consult with Rob about his wishes 😡6
