My mother-in-law died recently. Her and her husband had moved into a care home a couple of weeks earlier but hadn't started process of selling their house (they are joint tenants).

We need to start the process of selling the house to fund the care home for my FiL. There is no urgency for the funds but it would be good to get it out of the way and not have the house sit empty too long.

The will leaves everything to my FiL. I am executor.

As I understand it, form DJP would be needed to transfer the property to his name. Is this essential to do before selling the property or can this be covered as part of the sale with her death certificate?

Never mind, just seen that the form doesn't usually take long to process and there is an expedite process. So shouldn't be any issue.

Thanks for reading anyway!
