Hi
i was hoping to get some advice or if someone else have gone through a similar situation. My partners o2 contract was due to end and she received a call to switch her existing number to sim only and how she will save money going forward. She was explained nothing will change compared to her existing o2 contract other than her saving money on the line rental. So she signed up assuming its all still with O2, fast forward 18months we have gone away on holiday and she had switch on her data and used a small 125mb worth (which we found out later it being charged at £7.70 per mb) once we got back her phone had been switchedt off from all data services. We called o2 and were told we dont have a account with them and it had gone to plan.com. They had told us that the bill had now reached a sum of just under £1000 which we were shocked by. After uncovering more info we got told that my partner had been set up as a business account and plan.com only sell business contracts. She does not own a business or is associated with one so I did ask as we were with o2 before you roam abroad the max charge will be £6 a day and you can use your data as normal but not the case with plan.com.
i personally want to cancel the contract as my partner was made to sign up to something we did not know about.

I was wondering who we may be able to call or what steps to take to resolve it.
i have heard a fair few horror stories about plan.com

So your partner signed up with plan.com over the phone and presumably gave them payment details? Did she not get any welcome pack from plan.com or any 'sorry you're leaving' message from O2?
You should formally raise a complain with plan.com following their procedures. If you're still not happy then go to the Communications Ombudsman.2 -
O2 must share their data with plan.com who is affiliated with a company called imc telecoms who were the company who called my partner up and said everything stays the same. Its been about two years and cannot recall giving payment details. We have complained to plan.com they have asked us to get in touch with imc telecoms who we are waiting for a call back from and asked us to take it up with imc telecom but we have been paying plan.com who seem to be palming it off and saying we are with holding all charges until the matter is resolved.I will have to get in touch with the communications obudsman.0
