NCP Parking Fine

I parked at Oliver street Birkenhead and paid. Few weeks later, I got a PCN from NCP. I challenged and attached my payment receipt but it was declined that i paid at the wrong machine and no further communication, so I needed to pay up. Subsequently I got a mail that i should pay £100. I went to their website using their 'Contact Us' to let them know i have used that parking lot at least 3 or 4 times in the past, paid at the same machine and got no ticket apparently they might have recently taken over the premises. I argued that i did the right thing and didnt try to play a fast one. I expect them to give me the chance to make the right payment and not punish me for paying at the same machine i have paid in time past just because they might have recently taken over the premise. Anyways, i didnt get a response. just over a week later, i got a let from debt recovery that i owe £170. I am so irritated by the system. Intend to challenge this and not pay 170quids for the reasons stated above. This feels like this parking companies are just looking for ways to rip money off the public by any means possible.
Any advice on how to go about this will be highly appreciated.
Thanks.

It's a shame you didn't come here before appealing because you threw away your 100% winning appeal point.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
