I got the day wrong for the Farrier, it's tomorrow. My memory is awful 😖

After work I rugged the horses and gave them some hay to keep them busy till bedtime. They're in now tucked up warm. I made some Mary Berry fork biscuits using coconut sugar, they are delicious.

I haven't spent any money on shopping since Monday. DDIL brought milk with her today when she came with the little ones. Meant I didn't need to pop to the shops, diesel and money saved as she paid.

I couldn't make cakes today as I'm too low on SF flour and I don't have any eggs. Our neighbour drops some in regularly when his hens have been busy, fingers crossed we get some soon or I will have to buy some on Saturday.

I have a blanket over me tonight as its freezing and we are trying not to put the heating on.

Had a quick look through the freezer tonight, there are plenty of meals in there to keep us going. I need a sack of potatoes from the farm shop this weekend and we also need horse feed, Easter eggs and maybe a few bits. Would be good to keep it to the bare minimum.

Looking forward to adding up the debt to see where I am. Its truly horrible earning money only to 'give it away' to debt. I realise it's my own muddle but it would be nice to have money to spend freely for a change. There is always tomorrow.

It's rained today so I've been inside most of the day, other than when I went to Lidl this morning. I bought an Easter egg and bar of chocolate for each of my grandchildren and told myself that's fine.

Came home and made a lasagne which I cut into 6 pieces 4 are in the freezer, I'm just waiting to see what DH fancies for tea and if its not lasagne then they will be frozen as well. I've made 27 cup cakes and about 24 chocolate cornflake cakes. Tomorrow I am making biscuits and tuna fishcakes.

I'm having my hair done tomorrow in a salon first time for maybe 2 years....I'm a bit nervous as its quite long and going grey, not sure what they can do with it. Fingers crossed they can work miracles.

The Farrier came today and all is well so that's good 👍

Lady horse decided to smash her way out of the stable this morning as we were a little bit later. Luckily the metal barn gate stopped her going on a trashing spree of the garden. Dh has spent this afternoon repairing the damage, with a very good natured attitude I might add.

It's cold inside today, oil is so expensive at the moment we are being very sparse with the heating.

I got 4p veg this morning and I will call tomorrow on my way from the hairdressers to get some more. Fingers crossed Olio has lots either tomorrow or during the week. I will store it in the barn, taking it out of the plastic and putting it into feed bags.

I've eaten too many cakes today, feeling a bit full. Diet needs to start tomorrow. I have a stone to lose otherwise I will be buying new summer clothes, not b****y likely!

DH has lasagne so that's 5 pieces in the freezer. I checked my lidl app and i have a bakery treat and some veg free, that feels like a big win.

Busy few days, lots of biscuit making, cake making and mucking out.

Beautiful weather today dried two lines of washing ever so easily, airing now by the tank.

Had an enormous quote to remove the muck heap which we can't afford so thinking cap on. Heating oil is extortionate at the moment, I'm thinking the cost of the muck heap might be the same as the cost for a long burner to be installed. The plan is to make briquettes out of the heap, burn them on the log burner whoch apparently is a thing and way hay, free heating. I've ordered a press from ebay.

The heating oil price at the moment really is a nuisance. I am cold and have a hot water bottle and blanket despite it being sunny today. DH says it will be cheaper to live in a caravan out the back and put a log burner in that than alter the house. Aargghhhhh, cold and me do not go together. We do have an oil-filled radiator that is electric. DS is bringing it with him tomorrow to warm me up a bit.

I made chicken-cooked dinner on Sunday, and we have one in the fridge for tea; it was lovely, and I am eager to finish work so I can have it.

Yesterday we went out for a walk to the local beach for some fresh air, which was nice, but I am tired today and even more so because I had to go back to work. I could actually drop off to sleep.

A special day today. DGS was unwell, so he stayed home with me this morning. I got to cuddle him up and spoil him – a proper Nanna morning.

Back in work now so having a quick read of some diaries. Everyone is doing so well, really committed. I paid £522 off the total debt yesterday, so that is a step in the right direction. I am going to add up on the weekend, so Monday will tell how I am doing.

Finally, we have someone coming to look at the muck heap, he quoted much less than others, so fingers crossed he will keep to the same price when he arrives. DH said, for us to try and get it gone asap and then worry about what to do with each new wheelbarrow full each day from then on. If it could go at a decent charge, that would be best all round for now.

Horses are out without rugs, thoroughly enjoying the warmth of the sun, love to see them happy. The sun makes me sorry to be in work, I would love to have free time to sort through the greenhouse, maybe sow a few seeds. Maybe decorate a little.

Looking forward to Olio again soon, last 'haul' was very good, with lots of meals and a few salads to go with them. It makes all the difference, to be honest. I'm so glad I found it, and it happens to be really local to us.

Muck heap man price stayed the same when he came. Fingers crossed he takes it all.

Busy here today, grandchildren running around downstairs while I am upstairs working. Such energy!

It's drier here now but windy. We had a lot of drizzle this morning, and as I look now, actually it is spitting on the windows again, although it is sunny. I've got the electric radiator on and off in my office, as it is chilly this afternoon.

DH is having an olio meal for tea. It was originally priced at £5 for a chicken and rice specialist meal, (I would never pay that!). We've had a few of them, and DH says they are lovely, so that's good. I am going to have some potatoes with roast chicken and maybe some peas, I will see.

I'm planning on doing lots of housework when I finish work today. I have a load of washing in the machine waiting to be dried, it will have to be the tumbler now that there is no heating on. Could do with the weekend coming one day early :)

I managed to partly line dry my washing after work yesterday and left it in the kitchen overnight, it took 10 minutes to dry properly in the tumbler this morning, so a win. It's grey and overcast here this morning with rain forecast around 4pm, it's bitterly cold, though. I have a blanket and the electric radiator on in my office, and I am freezing.

Tea tonight for DH is faggots and chips with some gravy, and I might have a deeper search in the freezer for peas, I couldn't find any last night. The meal does come with peas, but mushy ones, and DH doesn't like them. The faggots are an olio meal. We did have to buy the chips, but that's the cheapest part. The biscuits and cakes I made last weekend have lasted well this week, so I will make some more tomorrow. Mary Berry fork biscuits I think.

Horses are ok again today, out in the field. They're out all day and in at night at the moment. It is too cold and the risk of rain for them to stay out is too high. I had a look at their rugs this week and they will last a while longer, probably will need new ones for this coming winter.

I get so grumpy and miserable when I'm cold. I like my bones to be warm. The bath is leaking through the plughole, which is a pain otherwise I could have a soak to warm up, but then a shower is cheaper so I suppose it is better this way. Hot water bottle required I think.

I've realised we can share our broadband with my Mum who lives within signal distance, which means the bill is half. We live very rurally, so we have to have a satellite system. The new broadband charge is £26.60 a month, down from £51.60. Additionally, I have just been through my subscriptions, which seem to creep in when I am not thinking straight, for a total of £63.98 saved a month. Thats a lot of overtime :)

My bath had something similar with leaking and it was so frustrating, A new bath plug from Amazon for £7 sorted it. Is yours the actual plug too? Maybe you can get a quick order in?
