Morning all.
I'm back from a very wet Wimborne but have hopefully dried everything out now. Seem to have mislaid my waterproof poncho that I needed for the procession. I'm hoping it will turn up somewhere but, if not, I'll buy another one as it's a necessity
Busy week week ahead and this morning I want to make a couple of cakes for a meeting on Thursday night plus catch up with the ironing. DSiL is due back on Friday and then we'll be off to York, via Harrogate, so need to get everything done by then.
Have just contacted the GP surgery for my second Shingles jab and got an almost instant reply with an appointment for the end of July, so that was an easy ask.
I hope your appointment goes well TA and you get news about your second operation.
Anyone know what's happened to Jackie O (London_1)? She's not posted since Easter so I hope she's ok.11 -
Morning all, dry but a bit nippy. Gers thanks, sorry the bull won.Yesterday seemed a busy long day. I'd put a chicken in the sc in anticipation for being late home after DGS football match, but we didn't get back until 8 o clock and it was rather dry, still we were starving by then. I'll have to use the rest up in a pie later, I think. DGS Mum,his other Grandma and her DH came too so it was nice to have a catch up. We ended up taking him back as his DM had to go a bit early to pick his sister up. She's asked if we can take him to a schools athletic thing later in the week. That seems to be all afternoon of a job
, and my hairdresser is coming to give me a well needed trim that morning too.
Better go and get some jobs done. Have a good day.:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)8 -
Morning all and thanks @Gers for the start - sorry to hear the bull is still winning! Also thanks TA and Auntycaz for answering Coxy's question yesterday evening re the TV programme. It's probably still available on C4's catch up service too.
After almost constant overnight rain, it's sunny, still breezy, and should be a dry day so, after I've done the daily stuff, I'll have a walk to the Co-op for a few odds and ends and gift them my soft plastics. Then it will be back to the sewing - I will get those cushion covers finished! Tea tonight is spag bol and I've fished the last two picnic size sausage rolls out of the freezer that I can have at lunchtime with some soup.
No luck finding anything I wanted to watch on TV last night; instead I had my nose in a book. It's a Jeffrey Archer novel, apparently the third in a series of four, although they're stand alone stories so don't necessarily need to be read in order. Purely by chance, I had read no.2 a few weeks ago.
In other news (as they say) my NDN had her boarded up windows repaired yesterday. I've no idea if her son is still living there or not but all has been quiet. I did fire off an email to my MP about my Pension Credit application and the delay in getting a decision. I've had an auto response confirmation of its receipt and will wait with baited breathe for what happens next.
@TA - Fingers crossed you get the all clear at your eye check up this morning so you can get the other one done soon.
@Chrisca - Magpies seem to be in the majority around here and yes, they're noisy! The only birds that don't seem intimidated by them are a couple of crows and the wood pigeons.
@AA - A mystery indeed. Squirrels?
@Ruby - Glad you got some money back. They've got a cheek but good for you for keeping all the receipts.
@TTBS - Pleased to hear your mum's eye implant went well, hopefully it will help her eyesight.
Time to make a move now so I'll wish you all a good day. Take care, hugs as usual. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.8 -

Hello everyone
We've had a lovely sunny warm day here...I've had a nice sit in my garden since I got home from work...little one has gone home so it's very quiet!
DD had a good holiday and got home in time to pick little one up from school - she was at nursery window after lunch asking how many hours it would be till she saw her.
We had a lovely weekend at a caravan park, just 10 minutes along the road...little one had a brilliant time and did archery, aerial climbing, drove a child size 4x4 and we watched lots of entertainment.
I've really enjoyed her company, but admit I'm ready for some unbroken sleep now...some nights her blood sugar alarm went off 3 times...it doesn't usually wake her!
On Friday night, in the caravan, I went to bed in a nice big bed and she was in her own room...she came through at 2am and got in with me, then I woke at 4am and she was like a starfish across the bed! I ended up just going through and sleeping in her quite narrow bed, she found it hilarious when she came through looking for me the next morning!
Gers - we had a rather loud bull in the fields near me this morning...we could hear it when I put the washing out.
I haven't read back to catch up, so I hope you're all ok. x9 -
London_1 posted over on the Decluttering thread and another one today. Happy to see her back and posting.6
