Would they not argue otherwise (theoretically in this case as we have no information of any evidence).... you're required to keep your address up to date with financial institutions, DVLA etc for example... which would invite the question who is being lied to... the banks or the council.fatbelly said:

It could be the daughter has come back and claimed habitual residence and gave the OP's address, the council then could claim as daughter was a habitual resident then no single reduction applies, but with the scant info provided no one can tell.RunsFromRobots said:It sounds like your council are trying it on.
